Actually I did. LoL
I used 2 x 6, figuring that it couldn't hurt to have a little more width for added stability. The scope is threaded onto a screw that runs through the upper board in the photo. The lower board is separate. I will use it in instances where I need a smidge more height, and will simply strap the two boards together using heavy-duty rubber bands.
