Actually, the credit-rating agencies have been carrying the Government for years; adopting the convenient standard that so long as the Government can pay its debts in dollars, in dollars (regardless of what those dollars are actually worth) it is entitled to an AAA rating.
But in the world of honorable men & women, when you borrow a certain value from another, you expect to pay back that other in that value, when the time comes. But since FDR devalued the dollar in 1933, and again since Nixon was forced to close the gold window in 1971, we have been paying back debt for lessor value, time & time again.
People who have the intellectual integrity to understand that this is not right; people who have the economic sense to understand that this cannot go on forever, even if it was not reprehensible; that it will lead to certain economic disaster, are not "tyrants," for speaking up. We need to pick up the gauntlet from the Administration's smear artists, and begin a great educational campaign to make certain that this folly & debauchery ends next year.
One other point, that must be kept in mind. What is the Obama Administration doing with all the extravagant spending? It is corrupting millions into increased dependence on big Government--on more of the very folly that is destroying our economy for our productive citizens. Would anyone tolerate a meddlesome neighbor--or some one a thousand miles away--paying our children to not work; not study; not marry, but have children out of wedlock, to join them in a life of idleness?

I’m 100% serious too. When you even attempt to explain away this lunacy you give it at least some credence (well, they are debating whether it’s the Tea Party’s fault, so maybe theirs something to it).
We should be laughing out loud at them every time they attempt this gambit.

And the RINOs (progressives hiding behind the GOP elephant) will certainly not offer much support for the Tea Party because if nothing else they are breaking up the phony 2 party monopoly. I say “phony” and “monopoly” because of the Progressive takeover of the dems and their growing infestation in the GOP.

I was thinking more in terms of facial structure, not scale color. Underneath the fake skin, DWS might have pretty blue scales, too.

It’s a tiny little variation now, some of them parrot the talking points, the others follow along a day later saying things like “truer words were never spoken”.
They’ve been playing this same, clearly obvious, game since ‘98, and nobody in the MSM has ever called them on it. What a great segment it’d make to string together all the identical statements and play them. It’d be pretty much a regular feature. Heck, a few years back you could have gotten an hour special out of “worst economy in 40 years”.
