I will find out for myself soon enough. I am not a transgendered person, but I am happily married to one. Her name is Lina and she is a male-to-female transsexual. She is 47, and I am 53. We met at Logan Airport on Valentines Day in 2003, when we both lived in the area (we have since moved to North Carolina for work). I had left The Boston Globe copy desk the year before to be a freelance writer, and I wrote about a crazy ice-skating trip he took in my column for the Globe Travel section, Where They Went. After that, we dated, fell in love, lived together, and married. The things I loved about Wessel are what I love about Lina, and, yes, in a romantic way. She is big-hearted, intelligent, emotionally mature, athletic, and adventurous. She has great legs. We had been together for almost two years, but married for only two months, when Wessel shared his news. He wanted to be my wife, not my husband. He had come to this realization with a sense of clarity and joy. I reacted with confusion and despair. Had there been signs? Yes and no. I knew he had struggled with societys rigid gender lines, but so had I. I knew he sometimes liked to dress in womens clothing, but advice columnists and a host of psychologists will tell you that does not necessarily mean a man wants to be a woman. We talked about it a lot and he assured me he didnt.

I think I just threw up in mouth a little. Where’s that ACT mouthwash? And a bar of Lava soap and a wire brush for my mind.
Actually, that's pretty far down on the list. Brain-dead, clueless moron was my first impression.
Why even post this garbage?
Not long ago I volunteered to help the director of a New England nonprofit get media coverage and, we hoped, more funding, for his organization that helps transgendered youth.
"Helps" "transgendered youth"?
Helping such folk would seem to consist of resolving whatever delusions cause them to be confused as to their gender. I suspect that the "New England nonprofit" instead encourages them to wallow in their delusions.
Same reason Little Miss Mark Morford's drivel should occasionally be posted: to chronicle the Left's descent into depravity.
Just to show what you’re up against.
Not only do we allow the mentally ill to run around loose, we celebrate them. Then people wonder why the country is becoming one big psych ward.
The Leftist cabal of activists, media, and government.
The Leftist cabal of activists, media, and government.
This is so true. On another thread, MrB shared this additional insight on this same theme of liberals raging against their own Creation ...
It comes from the biological fact that women get pregnant and men do not ..... the feminists have been doing everything they can to equalize this fact, and abortion is the closest they can get.
There's a few erroneous assumptions underlying this statement.
The first is that God made these people so they inherently would think they need to cut off pieces parts to be "whole." That is false. God created mankind to be perfect. We willfully discarded that in favor of sin, and humanity brought on itself the penalty for sin. The Old Testament account of Genesis indicates that the penalty is death and being cast out of the Garden of Eden into a world of decay and corruption. This means that even if there is a corrupted genetic makeup that causes some to have a predilection for rape or adultery or murder because of high testosterone levels or the so far fictional "genetic" tendency to sexual attraction to the same gender, it is still a sin to act on that predilection. It doesn't matter if society has spent 30 years trying to pretend that sexual sin is not sin because our biology makes it difficult for us to stop ourselves. All sexual sin is still sin, and the blame for that sin is solely on us, not God.
Second, very few people seem like evil people to me. Two of my former bosses come to mind, but for the most part the human definition of evil requires murder, genocide, or unconstrained sociopathic actions. That's part of how we convince ourselves we're going to Heaven when we're still trapped in our sin -- every person on the planet thinks that "I'm a pretty good person. And I'm not evil like those people." But that's not God's standard. God expects perfection. Because of our corrupt natures, we can't achieve that on our own, which is why Christ died in our place. Being a Christian doesn't mean you don't sin; it means, among other things, that you accept that Christ died as a payment for your sins and intercedes for you so that your sins don't condemn you before God.
Third, no one ever said to stone them or even punish them. I would have no problem shaming them or confronting them with the sinfulness of their actions, but it's the sin that's the problem and not the sinners. They deserve our prayers.
If you're already a Christian, you can just ignore this. But I truly hate the fallacy that "God made me this way, so however I act in conformity with my appetitive nature must be ok."
LOL
But that's just it. It's all about the attention they get when they wag it in front of the rest of the world. Hey, look at me!!!! Any other attention getting behavior is momentary but flaunting the gay thing and getting "married" gets them attention 24/7/365. Revving it up with the transgender to full blown sex change just gets them even more attention. Imagine the tingles up the leg when they get articles written about them. This need for constant attention is far from emotionally mature.
I guess I couldnt bring myself to stone em.

Do you really see any posts here that call for stoning them?
Just in case you are reading impaired, let me explain that the comments here are saying that these people are emotionally/mentally ill and should not be encouraged to continue in their perverted “lifestyle”. I have not seen a single comment — except yours — that makes any reference to doing violence against them.
Personally, I feel sorry for them in the delusions and lack of understanding of God’s design, but compassion will not cause me to see their following this path as something positive.
And I think most of us fear the pro-homo agenda because of the clear goal of making homosexuality seem normal so that the perverts can prey on children.
Reading this was sort of a like meeting aliens or visiting a strange zoo.
It is very simple. By law and in all contracts it should be stated as natural born male and natural born female.
a pile of poop is still a pile of poop even if it is renamed “senator”.
