I have read that the perps are largely blacks and asians. Gangs?

Staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital formed a 'human shield' as they barricaded themselves inside after rioters threatened to set it on fire - in an evil bid to 'win respect' from fellow thugs.
Police ordered an immediate lock-down of the hospital after rioters used Twitter to spread the word and encourage thugs to storm the wards just after 9pm last night. Gangs of rioters rounded on the hospital - which cares for some of Britain's sickest children - armed with broken bottles and knives hoping to 'out-riot' yobs running amok in London.
From what I have heard, most are rioting because the government has cut so many “benefits”. They want MORE government, not less.
If I may add:
I’m tired of going into the grocery store and seeing welfare recipients fill their shopping carts with soda, Doritos, scented candles, prepared foods, etc. while carrying cell phones, Ipods, and getting into newer cars than I drive.
Or when I’m in the drug store, and I see a Medicaid recipient have no prescription co-payment and purchase candy and People magazine when they get their free drugs.
Or the people who park in handicap spaces who don’t appear for a minute to have a disability, but have the parking decal anyway.
I’m really done with the moochers and parasites. There is an overwhelming arrogance and selfishness that has infected our country. The only way to eradicate it is a revolution.
I heard a radio host this morning say that they deployed 25,000 for the royal wedding.
When entitlement checks stop coming in the mail here in the U.S., then you’ll see rioting break out in our major metropolitan areas that will make what’s happening in London look like a Sunday afternoon tea party (not to be confused with THE Tea Party).
If the police were disarmed, how did cops shoot and kill that guy which precipitated the riots to begin with?

They have armed units (think of them as SWAT) and then the regular beat cops are unarmed.

If you read the Guardian’s website there are hundreds of posts by lefties and it that is the general attitude, then yes it is over. I have never seen so much passive/aggressive blather in my life. The posters there are waiting for the riot police to start firing so they can then join in on some safe “looting” of the political order.

A hospital spokesman said: 'We were told by police to lock the hospital down. They asked us not to let anyone in or out until it was safe to do so. 'It is extremely dangerous and our main concern..."
