Nevermind that the President's only officially proposed budget - which would have increased the debt by almost $10 trillion and certainly resulted in a rating downgrade - actually lost 97-0 in the Senate not even getting one vote from members of his own Party; the media still continued to lambaste and excoriate Ryan and anyone that had the nerve to support a bill that passed the House 235-189 the month before.

Then with Cut, Cap & Balance:

Media opposition to CCB continued even after it passed the House 234-190 which certainly made it easier for Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to prevent the bill from ever getting voted on in the Senate, a strategy the press applauded.

the media sure fanned the flames, but the blame lies in congress. in fact in all the congresses since the Johnson administration who felt that it was OK for the government to keep borrowing after borrowing until we have borrowed our way into this mess.

and it’s the fault of those who elect, and support those people who think that the ability to borrow more and more is sound financial policy.

Everyone here at FR knew from the giddy up that “O” was NOT the McCoy … or even a reasonable facsimile!

Panicky, bullied, ethically wobbly journalists and other MSM personnel who are the supposed watchdogs of our political process were (remain) afraid of their own shadow when assessing “O’s” fitness for the Presidency!! It’s the same whenever these people assess the credentials of ANY minority whose suitability OUGHT to be conscientiously evaluated, like everyone ELSE!!!

This is emotional blackmail and American voters deserve a more responsible and honorable ‘watchdog’. As it is, there is NOTHING to keep candidates honest.
