A very clear vision of what a Palin Presidency will look like. I have a question about the process of this. I know most have speech writers, etc. that assist a canditate in putting together their public announcements. While I understand something like this post is 100% pure Sarah, does that mean she actually sat down and wrote it all herself?
I don't see why that really matters. Reading Reagan's autobiography, he naturally had speechwriters in his presidency, but demanded that the ideas conformed to his beliefs. I see no problem with speechwriters as long as the content reflects the person. Are you saying this may not be the case?
The question is totally irrelevant. We are not electing a "speech writer". If she did write it, she get's a few 'extra' points. If not, who cares - she 'signed' it, and approved the message as her own.
It would neither surprise me to hear she had help nor that she wrote it all on her own. Given the staff she has, I'd be surprised if she didn't run drafts past at least some of them just to make sure she's coming across as intended.
In any event, it rings as "true" as being in her voice.
My response to that would be "Yes, in the same way John Grisham or Steven King write their own books."
Does anyone doubt that Steven King wrote The Shining?
And yet, he uses editors who critique, review, correct, and restructure his writing as part of the process.
So when I hear about any politician "Well, yeah, but they use speechwriters" I always think, "Don't authors use editors?"
Some certainly seem defensive about your simple straightforward question. As I recall, she was a journalism major in college, so it seems that writing might be high in her skill set. Also, it seems obvious to me that she has at least ten points over Obama on I.Q. points. It shows in her spontaniety, her dry sense of humor, her knack for summing up a situation in a few memorable words. She is very smart.
Did you read her emails that were released? If you had you would see she if very capable of composing an article with this breadth and depth.
Was it reviewed...I darn well hope so...I am sure Todd read it and commented on it, just like my spouse helps me.
