>>>Interesting how a little 3.5 quake can can be extrapolated into We are all going to die. It doesnt take much in FReeperville...sigh.
I’m not doing that here at all. Just noting that it occurred, and it’s a place that’s not accustomed to having them. And you have the gall to lament jumping to conclusions with your “...sigh” - Sigh indeed.

Physician, heal thyself.
And?
California has quakes all the time - S. Dakota does not.
This is South Dakota, not North Dakota.
Correct, SD does not have earthquakes “all the time” but they do have them.............

But South Dakota does have earthquakes, just not very often. About 1 every 2 years on average but sometimes 5 a year.

We here in W. Iowa and E. NE are STEWING in So. Dak’s water and have been ALL summer!
Back in the 80s I was on Alert at C-0 (Grand Forks) when the Missouri quake hit.
We did not feel it in the capsule but all the missiles in four Wings went into PIGA Leveling.
2.3 7 miles from Fountain Inn right on I-385 one tenth of a mile deep - probably construction. I know it was only 15 miles from us and we didn’t feel a thing
Barney Frank in the state?
Bush’s fault...
Word is he had help from the Amish.
I’m of the impression that the Bakken oil field stretches from ND into SD and Wyoming and Montana.
South Dakota has had Earthquakes. Everyone thinks time began when they were born...
>>>South Dakota has had Earthquakes.
Very infrequent. Which is why it’s been made note of.
The sticker on the mirror in the bathroom explained why the cold water starts out at over 100 degrees due to underground weirdness.............so they indeed have fracture stuff going on in South Dakota.
I've been waiting to unload!! Your DOT totally sucks! A month ago, we left Minnesota and drove down I-29 headed toward Kansas City; we'd been told that the flood detour was "no biggie....15 minutes at the most".
All well and good, so we took the detour sign east on I-80 and got 40 miles with NO clue as to what to do....we bailed out and went south on highway 59 and circled for four hours and 200 f*cking miles, due to Iowa's contradictory detour signage.
If we hadn't stopped at a rural gas station to take a well deserved piss (and found two salesmen who were headed south and knew the "follow us" route - signage bedamned -) we'd still be circling.
Anyhow, back to your original point -- we were dumbfounded at the devastation in that area. This was July and barns a mile off the interstate still had water to the eaves. The politicians and media moved on.....
