My first thought also.
Recognition for heroism that could also put the heroes families in jeopardy.
Seal team 6 set up?
Pay back for OBL?
Was the fix in?
Im suprised they knew as much as hey did....
I believe it was Newman on ‘Seinfeld’ who said ‘you control the world when you control.......information’. The Left has a monopoly in Big Media. Many people have NO IDEA the truth of many situations here in the USA. They only get the Dem talking points from Big Media.
Self-serving jackass.
“the families werent notified first”
I haven’t words I can post.
We just stood today at the side of the road as a hearse carrying the body of one of these fallen heroes was honored by the community on it’s way to the funeral home. Right in front of the hearse was a limo which his parents were in. Perhaps someone should think of them.
Re: Let me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
Yes!!! OIF Vet
‘I haven’t words I can post.’
Hear ya - I can imagine. . .
I’ve seen interviews with several family members on TV. A little late for secrecy.
Agreed. Part of the problem is the SOF communitee educating family members better. It is addressed, but not emphasized very well. A quote from Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, in a memo forwarded to friends of the Naval Special Warfare community:
"... please help us influence all of the broader NSW Community to not release information into public networks, personalities and organizations. Although our Members are inculcated with this attitude to be quiet professionals who disdain advertising, some of our family members and friends, in an effort to recognize their loved ones, don't comply with our ethos. As a result, operational security of both our Members and our Families has become a threat. I ask the Force, our families and friends to be mindful of who we are and what we do, with a mind toward being the quiet professionals."
Prayers for the families and friends of the fallen.
The dead included 22 members of the elite Navy SEAL commandos and three Air Force special operators, and senior officers overseeing the special forces are reluctant to publicly identify the slain troops...
All that being said, seeing the grieving families really brings it home that these were flesh and blood men whose loved ones have made the ultimate sacrifice and it is heartbreaking. I rarely cry for people who die that I don’t know, but seeing the individual stories of these brave men brought out the tears. What really hurts is I get the sick feeling that if we had a real American president, it may not have happened.
God bless our military and their families.
“Allot of the families released way too much info too imho.
Im suprised they knew as much as hey did....”
I agree their photos and names should not have been released.
Special forces casualties should be treated like CIA clandestine officers where it is illegal to release their names because of their potential active field relationships. Their identity and photo alone can expose others. The CIA neither mentions nor identifies when they lose a clandestine officer so that the media can’t hone in and fillet grieving relatives who usually know (unlike in the movies) a substantial amount about what their spouses, father, mother do especially in hindsight.
But getting back to both Iraq and Afghanistan, as long as politicians can grease the skids for the general public and force us into fighting wars off the books, painlessly without sacrifice (except to those in military, ) these wars like Libya now are going to continue.
Politicians need to face public backlash if they involve us in wars that are not about our USA national defense. How long do you think Americans would tolerate rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan if they were paying for it with an annual 10% war surtax? That should have been necessary and in place from day one to determine political will and the need to balance the books instead of in-debting future generations?
