You don't deserve an extra measure of deference because you say you're extra pious. The idea of a young earth is so laughable, so patently contrary to the overwhelming body of evidence, that the vast majority of Christian leaders have rejected it for the better part of 200 years. If you choose to ignore all that evidence in spite of yourself, then yes, you deserve to be made out to be fools.

I don’t want or need any amount of deference from you or anyone else. It is obvious that you have a disdain for Christians, and it really doesn’t bother me and I’m not claiming victem or anything like that. I wish you well, and I wish that you learn to respect those of us who do not have faith in men and our puny amount of knowledge.
