This is a weird story. They credit him but the story kinda ends in the middle with, “he ran outside .....” And then what? The man featured in the story disappears from the story.

The suspicious part of me says that they don’t want an armed citizen, even an ex-cop, given any significant credit for stopping this horror. At what point did he arm himself? With what? What did he do? Did he actually shoot the perp? This is a very badly written story.

In Harrisburg PA a former police officer who was teaching night school stopped one of his students from being stabbed with his personal firearm. The message was about the super-skills conveyed by his ex-copness and not on the fact that he had a PA Licence to Carry Firearms (LCTF).

I’m reading the same thing into this story.

“...stopped one of his students from being stabbed with his personal firearm.”

Good thing. That would have left a large, messy wound.

Not if it was well sharpened. Ya know, I looked at that after I posted and said to myself I ought to fix it but NOBODY will mention it :D.

I just played it for laughs with the morning coffee. Glad you didn't mind.

Better info there. Yes, the former police officer armed himself, went aside with a responding Copely Township Officer, and he did shoot the gunman.

That was still pretty abrupt. “Joined in helping shoot the gunman.” Kay. I think there is a heck of a lot of ways to write that story and neither story linked here is the way I would have done it. Maybe there is more on the video but I have very slow internet ....
