If you're holding out hope for the British Army, then you may as well pack it in. They're great folks. As far as our allies go, they're the only ones next to the Aussies and the Poles that can and will fight. I respect them greatly for their help in Iraq and Afghanistan, where I worked with them many times.

That said,

There's a vein of PC that runs through even the hardest of them. It's an old world superiority complex, that seems to manifest itself as multi-cultural moral indignation. The idea that mass immigration has destroyed their culture, or worse, that the self-evident moral correctness of modern British (multi-)culture is unable to force peaceful co-existence among the less civilized tribes in the former Empire, simply does not compute. They don't get it.

It's like trying to convince Americans that beer, boobs and barbecue aren't all that great. All you'll get are blank looks.

The Brit soldiers are more tough and conservative than their civvie fellows, but they're still reflexively programmed to blame themselves for a lack of tolerance and understanding, rather than hold everyone to the same standards.

What utter rot. It's going to rain here by the end of the week ('rain is the world's best policeman'), the naughty kids will all go home to their mummies, and the country will resume business as usual. Indeed in most of the country it hasn't stopped being business as usual. Predictions of Armageddon were issued with similar confidence after the race riots of the 1980s, the General Strike of the 1920s, the Chartist Riots and Swing Riots of the 1830s, the Gordon Riots of the 1780s, the Peasants Revolt of the 1380s.....and guess what, we're still here.

I suppose that like the Hebrews who fled from Pharoah’s grasp, the English refugees will have to spend a long time “in the wilderness” before they get their old souls back. Time will tell. They can bend over backwards infinitely. At one point, like a reed, they must snap back.

I just watched a video showing a neighborhood where the shopowners, who all seemed to be 'Asian' are armed and ready for the thugs. They've been told by the police that they can't use their weapons outside their shops, but they can use them on any thugs who come across their thresholds. The shopowners also talked about how the Jewish shopowners in another neighborhood were doing the same thing.

Let's not make the mistake of blaming ALL the immigrants for what these thugs are doing.

Multiculturalism what is always about pitting ethnic groups either along already existing lines of interest or making them believe there was something to sticking with birds of a feather while mouthing about global warming,gay rights or some other claptrap.

London is a great city,it is broken into so many pieces because there isn’t enough will or funding to properly police this place up.If the government can’t step up,arm the populace and organize citizen militias.

I am sure there is plenty of ethnics who are sick of these riots and will join up with other law abiding citizens to keep these yobs out.

Keep London as London and keep England English,not some Neo-Nazie dream but English nonetheless.

Really? We've just thrashed the Aussies in the Ashes and are currently doing the same to the Indians. The guys turning up at Edgbaston this morning don't look like impotent losers to me...:)
