It was initially reported that the SEALS may NOT have been on a SEAL Chinook that is totally rigged out for combat, not just troop transport, but on a NG Chinook - which would be VERY unusual for carrying SEALS - especially going into a firefight.
These big old machines make a VERY EASY target when backing up to a cliff to onload troops.
And there has been no explanation - nor even inquiries that I have seen - on WHY WASN'T AIR COVER SENT IN FIRST and WITH?
The "SEAL" Chinook would have also been a U.S. Army helicopter driven by Army pilots, just a more modified version, and pilots from a Army Special Operations aviation group.
