The way you go around with your nose sticking up in the air, it’s no wonder you don’t recognize yourself when you look in the mirror .... and, ironically, accuse others of your attitudes.

The fact is that when I came in to the discussion, you and your like-minded friends had an echo chamber going except for maybe two other posters, who of course were being harassed. If you want to characterize my refusal to think the way you do, and to voice my thoughts, as “intolerance,” then I guess that does prove you are a Ph.D. after all.... LOL.

Good grief. That is WHY the reports are being written.

Rather than me being "blindly accepting of police authority" or however you worded your invective, this thread and other threads on police-involved incidents --- even when officers are injured or killed --- always bring out decidedly and thoroughly ANTI-COP posters.

First of all, my statement that "blindly accepting police authority is not constitutionally conservative" is not invective. It is truth. Blindly accepting state authority is the surest way to totalitarianism, as history has demonstrated many, many times.

Secondly, don't paint with such a broad brush. I am not anti-cop. I am anti excessive use of police force. Simply because some might, in your opinion, express anti cop feelings doesn't mean all criticism of police is unwarranted.

I'll share something with you.

Eighteen years ago, on December 27th, 1993, Manhattan Beach police officer Martin Ganz was shot and killed in the Manhattan Village Mall in front of the Bank of America. He merely stopped the car for a traffic violation. The driver got out of the car and shot Officer Ganz without any warning or prior indication of potential violence. The next day, I, along with many people who live in that locality, placed flowers at the spot where Officer Ganz died. He was a terrific young officer who was engaged to be married at the time.

All these years later, I have never forgotten him. There is a small memorial at the bank. Every time I go by there, which is pretty often, I recall Officer Ganz and am saddened by his loss. He was a Marine Corps veteran. I'm a Navy vet. In my opinion, the very best way to honor his memory is to hold police to a very high standard of conduct so that their fellow citizens can trust them rather than fear them.

Uhmmm, Enchiladita, I didn't characterize people as intolerant, you did. I was responding to what you said in your post #77. Here's a link so you can refresh your memory: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2762623/posts?page=77#77
