Allentown attorney John J. Waldron, a prominent criminal defense attorney with 29 years of experience, said Hitcho's statements about telling Lasso to get off his property, can't justify homicide.Poor, poor pitiful Hitcho. Well, when he's on death row he might possibly be given computer access and he can log on to FR and commiserate with his fellow dope-smoke, cop-hating paulbots here in this thread.Hitcho's claim that Lasso needed a warrant to step foot in his yard doesn't justify homicide, either, he said, since Lasso was acting in his capacity as a police officer.
"Especially if they are in uniform and you know who they are," said Waldron, who also previously worked as an assistant district attorney for Lehigh County. "That is not self defense."
DiLuzio noted that firefighters don't need a warrant to put out a house fire, meter readers can access properties while working and utility workers often tread on private property.
He added that good police work involves responding to a call and, in the case of an argument involving more than one person, talking to as many people as may have been involved.
They won't be able to give him the "relief" he wants -- a walk on a murder charge -- but maybe he can find solace in their sympathies.
Maybe it's time right now, for all cop-haters here in FR to work together to get Hitcho honorary citizenship of France and a street named after him in a French town.
Viva la France!
