Skip to comments.Obama: Iím being vilified just like MLK, Jr.

At a fundraiser in New York, Obama likened his efforts to reform government to those of Andrew Cuomo, but then Obama also compared what he was going through to the trials and tribulations of Martin Luther King, Jr. (via Sam Foster):
Before leaving, Obama likened himself to one more figure. Martin Luther King, Jr.
I think that we forget when he was alive there was nobody who was more vilified, nobody who was more controversial, nobody who was more despairing at times, he said.

Obama is flummoxed by all that is going wrong, nationally, financially, politically, and internationally. Things going south never happened before (in his affirmative action bubble), so why is it all happening now?
The whole world would be better off if he just fetching Bill Clinton's coffee.
MLK was vilified by a jail and eventually a bullet. Obama has it easy because of MLK. Unfortunately, he’s using his opportunity to destroy the country.
Now he’s smearing MLK. He’s more like Malcom X (his daddy).
MLK was a Republican and Loved America. He would be against BO
LMAO- we here at FR really don’t realize what we have...obozo is Abe Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and MLK all rolled into one- just ask him or his supporters and they’ll tell you...
Zero playing the race card...
What utter conceit...
You know, when they see that barry is unable to destroy this country enough, I could see his handlers (Soros, et al.) offing barry in order to ignite a race war in this country. If the flash mobs don’t do it.
This guy’s narcissism is positively scary. He has lived in such an insulated world his whole life. He’s had the same Marxist world view his entire adult life and had NEVER held a job where he was accountable for any results. He’s never had to accept blame for anything, and at this point he NEVER will. God help us if this guy is re-elected.
It is official. Barry is certifiable.
MLK Jr. and MLK Sr. were both Republicans.
Although MLK was no saint, he stood head and shoulders above Obama as a real leader for ALL Americans.
No comparison between the two. For Obama to now pull the race card is beneath contempt. And hardly “presidential”.
I am surprised he set his sights so low.
I was SURE he was going to say something like:
“I am being persecuted much like the way they persecuted Jesus.”
Narcissistic little twerp.
Every single time I think this monumental retard couldn’t possibly say anything dumber, he hits one out of the park.
He is a legend in his own mind. He has the libtard "just don't get it" mentality. He doesn't get it that his libtard ideas suck.
Obama, in case there was any question, is the most insane person ever to seize the Presidency.
Barack, don’t sully the name of a great American by associating your attempts to destroy this country, with the trials MLK went through.
YOU are in the White House and have mistaken whining for leading!
the guy went to elite private schools his whole life and has never put in a hard day of work during that span and, yet, always plays the victim. This, of course, is due to major insecurities that comes from being 50 years old and having never done anything on your own except vote “present” all your life.
Alinsky/CP, Etc. Rules... All BS to the advantage of....(guess)
Mark Levin has it right. Since he can’t run on his record, he’s running as an outsider. When the race gets in full swing, the negative smear campaigns against his opponents will begin.
Obambi isn’t good enough to shine MLK Jr.’s shoes. MLK Jr. was a Republican and an American. He would not approve of Obambi.
“Vilified? Excuse me, but the news this week is touting yet another memorial built for MLK”
Hussein is just ticked that memorial is not all about Hiskingship. You do know He “WON”
Obama has zero connection to Martin Luther King.
What a shameless liar. Obama has nothing to do with the African American experience of slavery and discrimination. His black father was from Kenya, spent three years in America then returned to Kenya. Obama’s black side is imported from Kenya. His white side does have roots in America and goes back some generations.
Oh, wait. I meant Muhammad.
Exactly what sacrifices has this man made on behalf of his cause.
Aside from both of them being good speakers, tell me something that Obama has done.
And when it comes to speaking, tell me more than “hope and change.”. MLK could write a great speech because he knew what he was talking about. He could deliver it without reading off a prompter. And really, in thirty years are you going to get chills listening to any of Obama’s speeches?
The only thing these guys have in common is half a race.
Obama and King have a lot in common.
Love of America’s enemies and socialism for starters.
I can just hear FR’s “But MLK was really conservative” gang already...does anyone bother to read what he actually said and did
or wonder why Buckley, Magnus and Goldwater loathed him
or Ho adored him?
Martin Luther King?
Try Rodney King.
You read my mind!
Delusions of grandeur! Not long ago he was comparing himself to Reagan and running around with a white cowboy hat.
He’s a great example of someone always being told how great they are despite modest accomplishments.
Reality has got to be a real pail of ice water in his face.
my wife says obama will come to Christ.
that’s the only hope and change obama has.
I was in college at the time. MLK was treated as a hero, not a villain, except maybe by members of the Democrat party.
Obama was all of 6 or 7 when MLK was murdered. And just where was Obama living the first 6-7 years of his life?
Obama comparing himself to MLK is no big deal.
The left hath already anointed him Messiah, and Newsweek calls him god. Obama hath already proclaimed that his anointment marked “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
That the Anointed One would deign to liken himself to a mere mortal is evidence of his “profound humility, and knowledge of [his] own limitations” while he dwells among us in the White House.
I don’t recall MLK ever whining like a spoiled teenager when the DEMOCRAT Party led by Robert KENNEDY heading the Justice Department harassed him, threw him in jail, and tried to play games like setting him up with a prostitute.
Obama whines if someone says they don’t agree with him.
Obama, you fail the content of character test.
(Old news) NJ school named for Obama to close:
List of places named for Obama (more than you might think):
My favorite, and I quote:
“Kenya - Senator Obama Primary School and Senator Obama Secondary School, both in Nyangoma Kogelo, birthplace of President Obama’s father.”
Have to laugh at “citation needed”
bozo doesnt really need to pander to the black vote....he will still retain a vast majority of it in 2012, regardless of the destructive policies he foments towards blacks, et al
just more bozo sob-assing
ignore him, and/or laugh at him.....that is a nightmare for a narcissist
The problem with Obama is that he can’t show who he really is to Americans because he’s a commie. He’ll never be a true leader. In a few years, he has tried to glom onto the Kennedy’s and Camelot, mimmicked Lincoln in his inaugural trip to Washington by train, making the same stops, had the audacity to use Reagan’s name and now MLK. I’m surprised it took him so long to latch onto MLK being the racist and race baiter that he is. He tries to attach himself to great men because he is a shell of a man and hollow. There is nothing there.
If you type in a search for “Obama compares himself to”, you get quite a long list. Reagan, JFK, FDR, Lincoln, etc.
It’s still hard for me to believe he said that about himeslf!!! What a NARCISSISTIC ASS!!
You are being vilified just like someone who rams society changing through congress without a national debate or even reading the details,
or like one who has no accomplishments, a clandestine past and produced only forged electronic birth documents,
or like one who has spent more in two years than any other administration could fathom in eight and all with no positive effect on the economy,
or like one who calls patriots terrorists,
or like one who destroys the use and production of energy,
or like one who uses the unconstitutional power of the federal government to close down Chrysler dealerships and destroy the wealth of business owners that contribute to your political opponents,
or like one who has destroyed private sector jobs but created temporary "green Jobs" at a cost of $2,000,000 each,
or like an petulant child that criticizes the courts when things don't go your way and the Constitution still has some force of law,
or like one who bows to foreign dignitaries of countries known to support terrorism,
or like one that creates a cadre of czars without accountability or oversight of the American people... and I'm just getting started.
But maybe we should just vilify you as a bastard three times over and Chicago thug tutored by Bill Ayers, discipled by Jeremiah Wright and a golf in your face elitist.
MLK is remembered for a righteous stance against the second class treatment of black sons of slaves, Barry Sotero will be remembered for his unrighteous stance to make others second class and enslave their children.
Good Grief. Obama, you are a big nothing.
You've heard it before, but it's worth repeating as a reminder of just how puffed-up Barack Obama got back in 2008:
I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment--this was the time--when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals.
"The moment" wasn't Obama's election. It wasn't even his nomination. It was merely the "moment" when, by dint of finishing a close second in the New Mexico and South Dakota primaries, he had clinched enough delegates to make his lead over Hillary Clinton impossible for her to surmount. Oh, and he preceded this by declaring: "I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations." We sometimes say "I pride myself on my humility," but in our case the irony is witting
