Time to Get America Working Again

"We will not sit back and accept our current misery...because a great country requires a better direction...because a renewed nation requires a new president. That's why, with faith in God, the support of my family, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of America, I am a candidate for President of the United States."

Here's Rick Perry's first vid. I have to admit, it's pretty good. On message. Hits a lot of important themes. Brilliantly produced.

Looks like Perry is in it to win it.

Don't know if I'll support him in the primaries, but I could comfortably vote for him in the general election against Obama.

He's a MUCH better option than Flip Romney. If it comes down to those two, the choice is a no-brainer.

This is just an opinion from a Tea Party member who is disgusted by all the name-call and personal attacks in many of the recent threads by Rick Perry supporters against Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Michele Backman and anyone else associated with the Tea Party.

Rick Perry is an opportunist who will try to hijack the Tea Party movement and steal votes away from us.

He is an Establishment Republican. He is an empty shirt. Milquetoast. He will not take risks or fight strongly for Tea Party issues.

THE TEA PARTY SHOULD REJECT RICK PERRY!

It's not too hard to at least state, “creating jobs doing the opposite of what Obama and the democrat senate is doing”...Perry needs to state those things instead of just platitudes...I'm all in on Perry/Palin or Palin/Perry.

I don’t know much about Perry, but I alas have learned much about Obama. Obama’s strategy against Perry in the general election is flagrantly obvious, morph him into W and continue his one note “It’s all Bush’s fault” theme. Alas that is about all Ø is good at and there are a large number of fools that buy it. And morphing Rick Perry into George Bush is not hard. This is how Blago won in Illinois. The GOP had had one Gov. Ryan disgraced and sent to prison then ran a Candidate Ryan for his seat in the dumbest political calculation of my life. Too many voters linked the Ryans. The subprime mortgage on Obama’s soul AND the stupid party strike again.

One of the best political ads that I have seen in the recent times !

2 simple Reasons

1) Mentions the problem of obama in nice graphics

2) Gives solutions based on Perry’s record

Also, nice biography of rick perry !

Very impressive start ! But, with these republican field, there is always some catch ! Let us wait and see !

Right now, feels very good about perry !

Actually it wasn’t the Ryan name that gave the Illions Senate seat to Obama. It was a liberal judge who unsealed previously sealed divorce records of Ryan that brought his wife’s allegation that he took her to “swinging” clubs etc. He was toast after that and stepped aside so a guy who had likely never been in Illinois more than a night or two could be a sacrificial lamb for the republican party - Alan Keyes. Illinois voter have never shyed away from voting for crooks !

I wasn't writing about that Ryan, Jack Ryan, the third unrelated Ryan of the 2000's Illinois Ryan (R) sagas and ex-husband of the fourth, actress Jeri Obama finessed them to enter the US Senate in '04. I was writing about the second Ryan, Jim Ryan, whom Blago defeated to enter the Illinois Executive Mansion in '02. The first republican Ryan of the saga was George, whom Blago replaced as governor, then joined in the federal pen. From my vantage point in Iowa all those crooked and/or stupid Illinois politicians and their corrupt elections do seem to blend together. But insiders, which Obama clearly is, not only can keep them straight they can learn from them. Blago made good use of the GOP provided confusion. From Wiki on Blago:
Ethics scandals had plagued the previous administration of Republican George Ryan (no relation to Jim Ryan), and Blagojevich's campaign focused on the theme of "ending business as usual" in state government. Polls prior to the election found that many Illinois voters were confused about the names of George Ryan and Jim Ryan, a fact which Blagojevich used to his advantage. He asked, "How can you replace one Ryan with another Ryan and call that change? You want change? Elect a guy named Blagojevich."
Running Ryan III against Obama only served to win Illinois the title of having the stupidist GOP, trouncing normally tough competition. Jack Ryan had two strikes against him, his state and his name, before Obama's buddies unsealed the divorce records.

If the national stupid party is stupid enough to run Bush's literal Texas understudy against Obama he'll know what to do with it. "It's all Bush's fault" is the only excuse Obama's got for our current mess. He'll have the media and comics addressing Rick as 'Gov. Bush' more often than he was referred to as 'Osama.' All the real issues will get buried. It wouldn't matter if Perry were the second incarnation of George Washington, Obama would just say "There George goes again" and his mob would think Bush.
