Romney, Perry or Palin. One of these three will be the one. And Palin hasn’t announced. Cain has no chance.

I think you're right.

Back when it was Romney versus Palin, it was The Rich Insider versus the Popular Outsider. Each one was basically in a war of attrition against the other, waiting for time to wear the other down, and claim their resources.

If it's Romney versus Perry, Romney is toast. The establishment knows Romney is hated by the grassroots, and they don't really like him except for his ability to raise cash.

Add Palin to the mix, and the result is the same. Romney is toast. Perry will become the establishment guy, plus whatever grassroots he can split with Palin. It would be a tough fight, but I don't think Palin supporters appreciate how deep Perry would cut into their support.

Bachmann is a VP candidate. A junior Representative ain't gonna be President. Perry might pick her up to utterly neutralize Palin. (I'm still hoping for Perry / Rubio, though).

Palin still has a narrow window to jump in the race and knock Perry out of the middle space. Perry's first goal is to consolidate the center against Romney, then absorb grassroots power wherever he can. If you let that run too long, it destroys any chance Palin has of jumping in late.

She may have already waited too long. She may have wanted to wait until October to jump in, but events are forcing her hand. Either she jumps, or she sits, and the decision's coming soon.

I’ll vote for any of those but I think Palin can beat him. She needs to jump in NOW. I’m afraid she is going to get in too late in the game and be another Fred Thompson. I don’t think Cain has a chance either, no way. I like him a lot but after the black one we have now, there is no way in hell another black will be elected for many, many years. Romney, I don’t think he can win either but I will hold my nose and vote for whoever wins because not voting is a vote for that slimy piece of whale sh&t usurping the WH now.
