Venezuelans Begin Public Debate on Law of Firearms Control and Disarmament

This law be the result of a transparent, ample, and profound discussion by Venezuelan society, explained United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) lawmaker Freddy Bernal, president of the National Assembly’s bi-partisan commission established to draft the Law of Firearms Control and Disarmament.

Alfredo Roberto Missair, United Nations representative in Venezuela, (the law) “is a fundamental aspect of (guaranteeing) Human Rights” in Venezuela because a policy of disarmament “looks to protect the rights of all citizens, regardless of age, sex, or social condition.”

The law, not expected to be passed until sometime next year, (will) include the Law of Disarmament, the Organic Law of Communal Justice, the reform to the Organic Code of Penal Process, and the Organic Penitentiary Code. Venezuela’s Ministry of Defense reports that close to 200,000 arms have been confiscated and destroyed since 2003, 65,000 of them removed last year.

Yes, agree. Call your Senators and tell them not to radify this treaty!

It is the silent sneek to take away your 2nd, which will take away every right!

Yeah, like Hitler disarming the Jews was a way of guaranteeing them and protecting their human rights.

I can see where Freddy is coming from. An armed public makes it extremely difficult for the commie fascists to take control of a country.

He's THE cancer in the Americas and Jimmy Carter helped enable him by overseeing the elections and confirming that Chavez won and was legit.

The blood is also on Carter's hands (indirectly). The scary part is, he just lost the title as the "worst American President" to the one we have today.

The MSM is complicit in the UN Small Arms Treaty and every other Brady Bill/ACLU/far-Left push for repealing the 2nd Amendment.

Obama and Holder with the ATFE crafted Fast & Furious with Nappy and the Pravda Media/DHS to move public opinion to make us think that guns were bad and we should remove them (a la UK...).

These people will not stop.

Soros et al will not stop until they have you in a camp.

Believe me.

F the maggot commies.

You can also thank him for Iran, Robert Mugabe, ...

Anyway, as awful as he's been as President, I can't imagine BH0 being anywhere near as bad an ex-President as Jimmah has been: too many complimentary golf-outings await, and banging together old house planks -- even if it's just for a photo- op -- is much too physically demanding.

Do NOT forget that ANY law or treaty that fails to conform to the Constitutional limits on government is null and void on the face of it. Also remind your senators of that simple fact. Send them a copy of the Constitution for reference. Even if, God forbid, it’s ratified, it cannot stand against the supreme law of our land. And those who vote to ratify WILL learn that We, the People, still hold ALL THE POWER in this nation.

This is already a done deal. I’m a little shocked that Hugo hadn’t already done this.

Yet another totalitarian country the American Left will look to with admiration....

I’m a little shocked that Hugo hadn’t already done this.

According to the article, Hugo confiscated 65,000 guns last year alone. This new law will just facilitate his total grasp on power. And I am certain Hugo will be able to instantly deputize his gangs of lower class thugs whenever he feels the need.

Let us pray for Venezuela. And pray for Hugo's cancer cells to multiply very rapidly.

Disarmament is the last step before people not loyal to the government start disappearing in the middle of the night.

I can picture our country with an Obama police force and no second amendment. It is very scary.

Well, the author of one article wrote that if just 3% of us are willing to defend Liberty with our lives we will outnumber the folks they will hire to disarm us. The time to commit ourselves is almost here. Pray for His Providence.
