So what is the difference between Obamacare and what they have in Canada?

a lot. Canadian medicare is universal single payer (or multipayer, because it is run by the provinces) health insurance. Obamacare is mandated private insurance. In theory obamacare is similar to what they have in Germany, Japan and Switzerland (I think Israel also has a system like this), but none of those countries allow for-profit private primary health insurance (switzerland used to, but they ended it in the 1990s). Canada’s medicare is more like US medicare for senior citizens, with some major differences.
