Posted on 08/14/2011 12:23:03 PM PDT by george76
Pakistan gave China access to the previously unknown "stealth" helicopter that crashed during the commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden in May despite explicit requests from the CIA not to...
The revelation, if confirmed, is likely to further shake the U.S.-Pakistan relationship, which has been improving slightly after hitting its lowest point in decades following the May 2 bin Laden raid.
"The US now has information that Pakistan, particularly the ISI, gave access to the Chinese military to the downed helicopter in Abbottabad," ...
Pakistan, which enjoys a close relationship with China, allowed Chinese intelligence officials to take pictures of the crashed chopper as well as take samples of its special "skin" that allowed the American raid to evade Pakistani radar,

Was there ever a doubt ?
“Pockeystawn” is NOT our friend.
Take out their nukes now before it will mean a war with China.
We shoulda blowed it up more as we left?
Or maybe we shoulda blowed up Binnie and took the copter to dump in the ocean...
Not to worry, our Pocky “allies” only showed the parts that were stamped “Made in China”.
Time to befriend India now that the USSR no longer exists.
Is this actually news or a long known given? Must be a slow news day...... =.=
Nope. Pak-town is like insane hot girlfriends...they cheat on you when they have the chance but you keep them because they’re great in the sack and they have hotter girlfriends so you tolerate them.
The helicopter was in Pakistan, uninvited.
Yes, that may be the case... they may have been
uninvited... and I might also point out that the
Twin Towers was uninvited also, Jerk.
The helicopter was in Pakistan, uninvited.
yes, and Pakistan was officially our ally,
and they lied about Obama living there.
...even Indian intelligence knew it 2 years ago.
Obama knew for months prior to the execution,
and turned down at least 2 previous plans.
but Pakistan never stepped up and delivered him.
so Pakistan has no right to complain,
and in fact should be grateful we didn’t do a lot more,
to the nation that was knowingly harboring bin Laden.
people were coming openly to visit bin Laden.
it is impossible that the ISI didn’t know.
Figures! What has this man ever done that’s not to our disadvantage. Geeezzzz
Some democrat asked me “is there ANYTHING Obama did that you agreed with?”
I remember there was one thing but I forgot what it was. I’m still thinking...
Ah, yes... extending the Bush cuts! (But in reality that was Bill Clinton’s idea. That was the day ObamAA+ had to leave for one of those vacations... this one was in Hawaii... and Bill Clinton took over for a while because Obama said “we were in good hands”
I wish I could remember that democrat so I could give them my answer.
Since China owns 40% of our debt, I’m sure they were simply checking out one of their investments. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!
lol, that’s an “interesting” analogy since there is nothing desirable or pleasurable about being connected with Pakistan (or any of its “hot friends”) ha ha.... but I agree with the point that we put up with the bastards because we think the alternative of being without them is worse!
Yeah,, uninvited because Osama was. And the invite was clearly implied by the Billions in aid we give them,,, troll.
I know I’m shocked.
You got it. Had a Dem, lib GF back in jr college who hated Bush, (a picture of how lovely conversations were back then) but she was friggin’ hot and “bed-great” (wink) but I used her to bang her other friends who were hotter than her. We have to keep our friends close and our “enemies” closer..
I’ve been a Freeper 3 years longer than you. My posting record speaks for itself.
Victoria is a liberal hotbed, just saying.
That anyone would actually be surprised that the Chinese exact an enormous tribute from the Pakistanis in return is the real headline.
ok now I’m sure your life has been more exciting than mine, lol
I don’t have such a fascinating base of experience for comparison here.....
Yes, Pakistan is an untrustworthy “ally”. Yes, Bin Laden needed to be taken down. No disputes there.
However, sovereignty still means something. If, lets say, a N. Korean rocket were to land on U.S. soil & fail to explode — would the U.S. feel compelled to simply return it to N. Korea? Or, at least, to just bury it, without letting anyone else look at it? Would you simply overlook the incident — ignoring the intrusion into your sovereign space?
the ISI did? What a huge surprise. Thanks george76.
We need Pakistan and they know it. We have over 100,000 troops in neighboring Afghanistan and we can’t effectively supply them through any other route. They don’t need us. Sure, they like our money, but they don’t like us, don’t share our ideas and only helped us because they were fairly sure Bush would have carpet bombed them.
China, on the other hand, is on their border. And there are hints that China’s isolationist military policy might be evolving.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to stop sending our national wealth to China in the first place - it’s the reason we face a future war with China. WE ARE PAYING FOR THE CHINESE MILITARY BUILDUP
Our diplomats are hard at work on that right now...
And on top of that we are sending aid to Pakistan that we borrowed from China. Is that not “F”ed up or not. And another point why send in super secret stealth choppers with chinooks. Totally defeats the plan which says the Paks knew about it and gave permission.
When the Chicoms get their new aircraft carrier into service, there will be a showdown over Taiwan, and Obozo will blink.
“Ive been a Freeper 3 years longer than you. My posting record speaks for itself.”
As was said in the American movie “Topgun”,, “Below the hard deck doesn’t count”. Foreign years only count for 25% of the time of a similar number of American years.
So you are the Noob,,,
And no,, it would be utterly different if someone foreign military machine came here without permission, that isn’t allowed. But we can still go there when we need. It’s like that,,,
“But we can still go there when we need. Its like that,,,”
True enough, that’s one of the perks of superpowerdom. Just don’t be surprised when the people, at some of these places, see things differently than you do.
Some of the other posters on this thread compared Pakistan to a crazy girlfriend. Close — but, crazed sugar baby would be closer to the truth. Money doesn’t buy much fidelity. Pakistan was upset by the raid (whether or not they were complicit in hiding OBL). Showing the helicopter to the Chinese seems like a bit of passive-aggressive revenge.
Sovereignty only applies to the Pakis when they want it to.
When Taliban and Al Quaeda are harbored in their hinterlands they disclaim sovereignty and take no responsibility.
When Bin Laden is under their noses, they disclaim sovereignty and take no responsibility.
Can’t have it both ways. Either we hold them responsible for harboring terrorists, or we clean up their mess.
The helicopter wasnt invited and OBL was?
Money talks, no body walks. They grab our pieces we grab theirs too. Its all about $$$ in Pakistan. They play both sides.
You're right — Pakistan is duplicitous at best. Also, OBL did need to be taken out — no dispute there.
However, my point remains — the helicopter wasn't invited. Throughout history, sending in war machinery uninvited constituted an act of war. Pakistan isn't about to declare war on the world's superpower. That doesn't mean that they have to like the incursion. Giving their big, powerful, and rich neighbours a peek at the helicopter probably seemed like a low-risk act of passive regressive vengeance.
Too late. Perhaps in The New New American Century (22nd) India, Pak, Chicoms, Iran and Russia are circling their wagons.
U.S. squandered Cold War victory and lost Asia.
I don't think so.
Pakistan was born out of the Islam - Hindu conflict in India and the hatred is as strong today as it was at Independence. They hate India enough to go to war.
The Iranians although Islamic, are Persians who speak Farsi and have a superiority complex and tell everybody about it.
Russia after nearly 1000 years is STILL trying to become an Empire and has only two thing anybody wants to buy: cheap weapons and petroleum products.
The Chinese will do what they have done for the last two millennium: over play their regional power status and crumble from within.
Oh, they invited it all right.
Then why keep up the pretense that Pakistan is an ally?
You’re asking the wrong person that.
But, your implication, that we violated their sovereignty, is somewhat mitigated BY THE FACT THAT THEY WERE SHELTERING OSAMA BIN LADEN.
So, what’s your purpose here?
