Battle in Greenfield, CA Shows How Illegal Immigration is Not About Race

Greenfield, California has a big problem: it is overrun by illegal aliens.

According to news reports, the destructive impact of thousands of illegals who work at farms and vineyards in this Salinas Valley city, has aroused the outrage of residents, who complain that these newcomers from Mexico are "clustered in overcrowded apartments and garages, throw trash into the streets, throng city parks, hold loud parties and are involved in break-ins."

So the residents formed groups such as "Beautify Greenfield" and "Save Greenfield" to counter the impact of the illegals, and air their grievances before the City Council, such as that:

The new migrants ruined the town financially, "destroyed" its school system, caused violent crimes and were part of gangs, which are pervasive in the Salinas Valley. The migrants, "invaders from the south," should be deported.

Predictably, migrant "leaders" and the media called these groups "racist". But far less predictable is the ethnic makeup of the residents who want these illegals deported.

They are Hispanics. And mostly of Mexican descent.

The illegal aliens are also from Mexico, but are from small mountain villages in the remote state of Oaxaca. They speak their own native languages - not Spanish - and keep their own customs, which unfortunately include urinating in public and keeping farm animals in residential housing. In 2009, an Oaxacan man was arrested in Greenfield after sending his 14-year-old daughter to marry a neighbor in exchange for beer, meat and cash.

We got a lot of these immigrants from Oaxaca here on the California Central Coast during the last few years. They do not speak Spanish. Our school districts in their great wisdom have placed their children in language acquisition classes. They are teaching them Spanish.

Those would be Mexico's Indians who have not even assimilated into the Spanish culture of Mexico. The Mexicans who come illegally are just about all semi-Indian (Mestizos) and full Indian. The more Spanish& European Mexicans tend to be able to get here legally one way or another. Mexico is ruled by its elite 10% of Spanish & European extraction. That's who used to rule Venezuela too until mixed race Hugo Chavez took over. Hugo is part white with Indian and Black mixed in. He often alludes to his indigenous (Indian) roots
