That's the dinner bell. :)
Whoa! Sorry to post and disappear. The phone man was fixing the loud buzz on our land line, and the DSL and phone were off for quite a while there.
We thought isolating the cause of the buzz was going to be a major project Saturday, but it turned out not to be caused by anything inside our house. Hubby called in the problem yesterday, and the phone man showed up this morning. I was surprised by how long it took him to isolate and fix the problem, but it’s done now.
I tried calling you cell to cell, Onyx, but your battery died just as you answered, sigh... What kind of a phone do you have? I’ll send you a stinkin’ charger cord. ;-)
Anyway, all is well here now, but I’m in the middle of several chores, so will BBL.
ROTFLOLOLOL.
Oh cripes! I think it’s a pantech by AT&T. I found the cord and have had it charging. Odd that it cut out. I tried to answer but it did go dead. I didn’t know who had tried to call. Thanks for telling me it was sweet you!!! I am listening to Rush, but fixing to go lie down soon. I’ll also BBL.
You’re off my Christmas card list now!!! My life is consumed by a local history thread on FaceBook. No delay when I hit the post button there...
I always check it out afterwards with a cigarette, don't really trust the little *test button* method completely.
Think some manufacturers recommend replacing them every 5 years.
My guess, and it's only a guess in my own case, is the plates in the ionization chamber become dirty, hold moisture more, which reduces normal micro-current flow which the detector circuit falsely recognizes as smoke between the plates causing the reduced current flow.
Very sensitive circuit to say the least.
Hard to say what your problem is, you may even have the older photo electric type which work different from the newer ionization types. They depend on photon scatter of a light beam by smoke to set off the *Chirp* by a photocell.
Other than the *Chirps* you seem to be in good shape.....Good deal!!!
Oh dear. I also happened to land on post #2000 on the President Bush thread that’s been running for months....lol. I’m going to go take a nap.
If those chirps are still there when I get home it may be quail season for them.
Still no power here. I’m using the phone’s browser.
@
That really sucks.
Still no power. These droid 3s are great; take alittle time ro get used to.
Turns out from the start mine was faulty
you can’t copy and paste on these, can you?
Mine is a Blackberry because it’s a contract work phone and got tired of carrying more than one. I found out how to cut and paste with that but forgot and havent tried to do it again. I’m looking into getting a Blackberry driver for the laptop.
Rookie
:^)
ROFLOL!
I take it that’s approval. :-)
Good one!
