The FBI pulled a really slick one after Ruby Ridge. The two agents in charge (I have forgotten their names) were caught red handed violating FBI procedures and probably the law.
They were both given reprimands. Now a reprimand in your personnel file used to be considered a career killer. Typically anyone getting one would simply resign.
Not these FBI agents tho. A few weeks after getting their reprimands, they were both promoted.
The FBI also blocked prosecution of that murderer Lon Horiuchi. That piece of trash is still walking the streets.
