Where on earth did this guy find pipe caps that big, or a 12" NPT threading die?

12” in diameter, and 12” tall? Yup, echoing what Charles Martel said, I have to wonder where he got the pipe and pipe caps that big. The purchase of that stuff by an individual would’ve made the police work very simple I’m sure.

Or, the reporter just got it wrong? After all, you can’t spell “stUPId” without “UPI”, right?

If you are assuming a 12 diameter threaded pipe, you are assuming details not actually described.

For example this could be a bundle of 1” PVC, or a dozen other things.
