Twelve hours removed from a controversy about his suggestion that Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke was engaging in treasonous behavior Texas Gov. Rick Perrys presidential campaign didnt try to walk back the remark. In fact, they doubled down on it.
I am passionate about the issue but I stand by what I said, Perry told reporters in Iowa today.
Although Perrys campaign is only a few days old, the episode provides a telling insight into the Texas governor: he is brash, bold and unapologetic about being so.
And that just might make him a perfect fit for the current Republican primary electorate who is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

Perry is one tough Texan...Americans throughout this country are going to love what they hear and see with Perry.
You’re a Perry supporter right?
See how stupid that sounds.
“Just an observation but is it me or is anyone else noticing that the Paulites are flooding FR with negative articles about Perry?”
Not me. Perry actually gets along with Ron Paul. VP or Treasury secretary works well.
When did I say others couldn’t criticize? Feel free. Hell, I’m criticizing my candidate.
In politics (as in most of life), when you're explaining (or apologizing) you're losing.
Its the conservative version of calling someone a racist.
I’m a Sarah supporter but I do like how Perry speaks straightforward and unapologetic. Like Sarah.
That said, his liberal/RINO baggage is similar to another RINO liberal...Huckster.
Perry will be the flavor-of-the-month and them fade once his record becomes more known.
Well you’re the one who’s using the conservative version of calling someone a racist to silence dissent.
And its just as respectable as when the democrats do it.
Bernanke is just as much a criminal as Obama, Holder, and Geitner. They all belong in prison.
“Perry actually gets along with Ron Paul. VP or Treasury secretary works well.”
That works for me. :)
“In Texas, we say what we mean, and mean what we say!”
This week Perry says he was wrong to sign an order requiring all sixth-grade girls to receive the vaccine, which is promoted as a cure against the sexually-transmitted human papillomavirus. “I readily stand up and say I made a mistake on that,” Perry said Monday on an Iowa radio call-in show.
I could quote a few more, but the idiot has had to apologize more than once for major ‘mistakes’. How about his “Trans-Texas Corridor”? Yeah, that corridor, the one that gave Mexico an expressway through Texas. He had to back off that idea.
Houston....I think we've got a candidate
“Perry is one tough Texan...Americans throughout this country are going to love what they hear and see with Perry.”
They will?
They are going to love hearing how he ordered all 12 year olds to get a controversial vaccine?
Maybe theyll love to hear how he was going to take massive private lands to build a massive Trans-Texas Corridor from Mexico, giving Mexico an expressway through Texas into the rest of the country? Thank God the Texas legislature stopped him on that one.
In your dreams..just hide and watch kemo sabie....
LOVE That!!!
Oh goody so me and 'Normy' are racists now. Geeezzz..
Never apologize. Never explain.
you got that right.
