see the link in my tagline on FDR and the New Deal. It is amazing how it is all happening again - but worse. Obama is still in the process of “creating a new foundation for America” as the promise he campaigned on. Of course you need to tear out the old foundation first.

Here’s that link and an excerpt talking about FDR and business (and the debt). Like I said - it is ALL happening again,

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2185147/posts

Here’s an excerpt from Part 5: What to do with Business?

There was a Director of the Budget who was not at heart a New Dealer. One day he brought to the President the next annual budget — the one of which the President afterward said: “The country, and I think most of Congress, did not fully realize the large sums which would be expended by the government this year and next, nor did they realize the great amount the Treasury would have to borrow.”

At the end of his work the Director of the Budget had written a paragraph saying simply and yet in a positive manner that notwithstanding the extraordinary activities indicated by the figures and by the appropriations that were going to be made, the government had really no thought of going into competition with private enterprise.

Having lingered for some time over this paragraph the President said: “I’m not so sure we ought to say that.”

The Director of the Budget asked, “Why not, Mr. President?”

The President did not answer immediately, but one of his aides who had been listening said: “I’ll tell you why. Who knows that we shall not want to take over all business?”

“There is no evidence that BHO, Sr. wanted to be an American or remain in the US.”

Where in my post did I say anything about BHO Sr. wanting to be an American/U.S. Citizen? I did not.

I believe he used SAD to “extend” his stay in college in the US past what would otherwise would have been allowed. The evidence is that he lied about his age to comply with the requirements.

“But he lost out in his pursuit of that PhD because the relatively conservative Harvard of the 1960s was obnoxed by his womanizing and conspired with INS to get his student visa revoked before he could complete the degree. “

BS, there is no evidence that they ever lived as man and wife and no evidence of a marriage, although there is evidence of a divorce. (there were other reasons for that)

Barry the Bastard's entire life history is conjured. He was born somewhere to some father and is a citizen of some nation. But don't you know, all nations are alike (/sarcasm)!.

If he even knows for sure himself.

Now, that is another possibility. But someone somewhere must actually know "the truth". Like the old commercial about a woman's true hair color, that only her hair dresser knows. Or only the "Shadow" knows.

Let's get down to business. Yapping about Matthews is fun but does no good in the larger picture.

Does anyone here who watches Chrissy for monitoring purposes have a list of his advertisers? It may or may not do any good to write them but it's better than doing nothing at all. We're here to FREEP, not to vent and chat only.

I wonder if corporations who advertise with Matthews really want to be associated with a true psycopath.

I wonder if they want to be associated with this crazy marxist bent on BRINGING DOWN our existing free enterprise economic structure with his unrelenting propaganda, lies and unhinged ravings.

Would an executive of a corporation advertising on Matthew's show care to preside over a free-enterprise company or as a puppet "running" a state-controlled company?

These are only some of the questions that should be sent to the highest corporate CEOs who have final approval of where their advertising dollars are allocated. If they never hear from ANYBODY, they remain wallowing in their naivity, ignorance and detachment from the real world.

This is an interesting thread about the lunatic Chris Matthews.

It would be appreciated if the hijackers of this particular thread showed some awareness and courtesy by starting their own thread for essays on Obama's parentage and his racial makeup.

Thank you,

Leni

Capitalism is the free and un-coerced exchange of good and services. There is NO economic system more ethical.

Leni, you know that thread hijacking is a time honored sport at Free Republic ;-)

I don’t think anyone does it on purpose. Conversations just veer in unlikely directions sometimes. Feel free to swing it back to Chris Matthews, if you like.

I believe he used SAD to “extend” his stay in college in the US past what would otherwise would have been allowed.

If that was his aim, he miscalculated. His marriage to SAD and its bigamous nature contributed to Harvard's case for terminating his student visa early. But Harvard's primary and original motivation was his sex life in Cambridge, not in Honolulu. Remember, this was the sixties, and Harvard was much more conservative about such things than now (or even their students then, LOL).

BS, there is no evidence that they ever lived as man and wife and no evidence of a marriage, although there is evidence of a divorce.

Harvard and the INS had no interest in such details.

If BHO, Sr. had not had the obvious character flaws he had — if he had been a responsible father and husband — he would have brought his little family to Cambridge, completed his PhD, and then moved back to Kenya, where he probably would have become a big man, possibly president. And little American-born Barry would have been raised a Kenyan. And who knows if we would ever have heard of him.

Or, alternatively, if BHO had wanted to become an American, he could have easily become a citizen through his marriage.
