Napoleon liked “lucky” men. What was it that Vinci Lombardi used to say, “Luck is the residue of preparation.” They both understood that what seems like luck is the result of hard work, prepartion, skill and nerves.

And, `If you fail to prepare you are preparing to fail.’ Don’t know who said that, but it applies to the laziest FAIL and biggest bonehead ever to waste space in the WH.

I picked up “Starship Troopers” the other day and had never read Heinlein before. I thought the movie was fun but stupid so I never bothered to read the book until someone recommended it to me.

The book is much more philosphical than I expected. When you get to the parts in the book where various military instructors detail the fall of North American Society (the US) it is scary how a book published in 1959 predicted in fair detail the societal rot that we have today. It gives me the same feeilng as reading “Altas Shrugged.”

He ran into bad luck?

History is made by those extraordinary leaders who ran into the bad luck of revolutions, plague, invasion, rebellions, economic disasters and lead the citizens to victory.

Obama is just another mediocre, pedestrian wannabe celebrity who flailed onto the stage with no particular skills except the one to read a teleprompter like the actor he is.

Obama should have followed his path to Bravo reality TV and spared the entire country this disastrous presidency.

Obama proves the inverse of “the harder I work, the luckier I get”.

"Stranger in a Strange Land"

"The Moon is a Harsh Mistress"

"Starship Troopers"

If you've never read Heinlein, do yourself a favor and read these.

This is typical liberal thinking. The outcomes in their lives are due to bad luck and forces beyond their own control never their own bad decisions or actions/inactions.

Anyone with half a brain knew that when the “stimulus” ran out, so did the “recovery”... The stimulus didn’t simulate anything but more debt. It was a false recovery as in a lie.

It doesn’t take genius or courage to spend what you don’t have. Any fool can do that, and that’s exactly what Obama did. And now he’s talking tax increases on the “rich”... Adding more uncertainty and stealing more resources/productivity from the private sector. All that will only cause the economy to sink further...

Stupid is as stupid does.

Barack Obama, is a “Murphy’s Law” President, if ever there was one, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Thanks for introducing me to Dr. Wolf...I agree anyone who quotes Robert Heinlein is worth reading further...

And for anyone who hasn’t read any Heinlein, a tasty bite of his thought processes that won’t take but a few minutes of reading can be found here:
