BOND, The Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny will hold its inaugural Women’s Forum tomorrow, Thursday at 7 p.m. The women’s forum is designed to help women address spiritual, family, and relationship related issues. This is an open forum so feel free to come with any questions and bring other female guests. The meeting will be led by BOND Founder and President, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and is open to all women.

Guest says it is not so much a religion, but a 'way of life'. Jesse asks how did it come about...guest says in 1920's Marcus Garvy started a grass movement in caribean and America. He wanted to uplift black people and the goal was to own cooperative businesses. Make them self sufficient. He made certain statements (he was not a Rastafarian). Where is your kingdom and who is your king? He wanted them to think about how were they tied to themselves as a people.
In 1930 crowning of Haile Selassie and they thought this was the fulfillment of Garvy's question...I guess he means this was their king?!
He became a personification of divinity. He was the emperor of Ethiopia (in line of king David!), He and some woman (Queen of Sheba), communed together (whatever that means). LOL JEsse says when he grew up he thought of Rastafarians are dread locks, marijuana smoking, Bob Marley music kind of people. Guest says that they just want to live their lives out of the spot light...guests says that marijuana is an herb and used in medicinal sense. LOL

Jesse asks why did guest switch from baptist to rastafarian? He says he asked some questions...what is going to happen to someone who doesn't get this teaching? It struck guest as wrong that they would go to hell. They difted from Christianity. Jesse asks does he believe Christianity is good? Guest says true Christianity is good. Jesse says he had similar questions when he was young. Guest says did he got the answers. He now thinks there are good Christians. Good people. Is Christianity the white mans religion? No says guest.
Jesse asks guest what is he getting from the religion that he couldn't get from baptist religion. hHe says he has a deep solidarity with like minded people....God is love, let us love together...heightened sense of love. (?) Jesse asks when he was a baptist did he sin? He says kind of yes, he was a youth and he moved away from perfection. Jesse asks if he still sins? He says yes...then he wants clarification of 'sin'. He doesn't live a perfect life. As a baptist did he find perfect peace within? No he says. That was a troubling question. He has perfect peace now....TA DA! Next questiion.....do you smoke marijuana? Guest says yes...on certain holy days. Once a week? Mor than that?
Jesse asks do they believe in abortions, etc, guest says yes they believe in one man one woman. They have morals...well, that was interesting. And that was it for today! Bye
