Weapons purchased during the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives‘ controversial “Fast and Furious” undercover investigation, which included the sale to “straw buyers” of hundreds of AK-47 assault rifles, have turned up at a dozen violent crime scenes across the Southwest, the Justice Department told a Senate committee. In a letter to Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, Vermont Democrat and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the committee’s ranking Republican, Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the Justice Department confirmed that the illegally purchased weapons recently were found at the sites of at least 11 violent crimes.

Call me stark staring nuts if you wish, but I believe it’s NOT when it started so much as who.
It’s been occasionally surfacing in articles over the years that the United Nations is behind the move to disarm the World, and as a Super Power with a legally armed populace the USA has been, and is a primary target.
It’s difficult to take the World to Socialist/Communist/Progressivist status when the intended victims in that World can shoot holes in those intending to victimize them.
Most of the problems we face today in our government, and the World for that matter are at the sleight of hand by the union of the Left, and the United Nations IMO.
Eliminate the United Nations we eliminate a major tool for those leading the assault on the freedoms, and prosperity of all mankind.
Next as I’ve posted often eliminate everything the Left has accomplished in our Federal Government since the days of Woodrow Wilson as well. Eliminate every non specifically Constitutionally designated department of...whatever, and every Leftist inhabited bureaucracy that was created to support those Leftist created departments that serve only to undermine the Constitution, and the American way of life.
If a State wishes to keep, and maintain some of what is currently Federal of those departments, that’s up to them, but the Federal government is not the place as such incremental establishments have over time drawn burdensome centralization of governmental power to the entity. The Federal government wasn’t supposed to be as it has evolved at the sleight of hand of those of Leftist bent.
All too many want to come back at and state to the effect that some department of whatever was created during the tenure of a Republican so how can I dare say that it’s Leftist created. They don’t seem to realize Left means supporters of the odd perspective of Liberals, and others that can infest any political party. “Republican” doesn’t mean “Conservative”. That’s why I try to always toss Liberals, Leftists, and RINO’s in the same junk box.
That's it. And politicians received drug money that's been nicely laundered through banks, who also make money on it. Thus the phony WOD that never ends, never closes the borders, never really goes after the drug lords, etc. Keeps the price high though, probably. More $ for all hands involved.
