I think you’re right mostly about Rick Perry. If he’s the nominee, I’ll support him, but we shouldn’t be rallying around him right now. We did something similar in 1999 and we all remember how that turned out.
All he came back with? No. It’s the only thing Israel is doing to defend their borders that he hasn’t already requested (and been denied) by the federal government.
Israel has some impressive walls, something Perry has called "nonsense". So, it's only those big, bad Feds that keep him from doing everything he can to secure his state. Looks to me that the flying ace has been shot down again.
It IS nonsense to wall off Texas (and our farmers and ranchers along it) from the Rio Grande. Anyone who knows anything about Texas knows THAT. Duh. We have more border miles than the other states. Perry was right. It’s total nonsense. Illegals don’t cross over in the boonies anyway. They’re crossing at the cities...where we ALREADY HAVE FENCES. Get your info from somewhere other than MSNBC and you’ll be a lot better informed.
I don't watch MSNBC. I've never lived in TX, but I have lived in CA and AZ. If illegals don't cross over in the "boonies", why do we have all the bleeding heart stories of those dying while doing so? Why are people leaving water or distributing maps showing them how to do it? (forget MSNBC, try a google search for those items). For decades the POTUS (even Obama) and a majority of the American people have said that enforcement of our borders is paramount to our security as a nation. If ever there were a case for imminent domain, this is it. You and Perry seem to be saying, "No, we can't". Remember when JFK said we could send a man to the moon by the end of the decade? We did it. Since NASA, under Obama, has stopped our shuttle missions and become more of a Muslim outreach program, maybe we could fund more fences. If not with Federal dollars, then with public donations. Why hasn't Perry initiated something like this?
Here is a link from Greta's interview with AZ State Sen. Smith.
AZ turns to people to help build border fence
It seems to me that you are the one less informed on the issue.
Certainly the occasional one gets through via no-man’s land. Maybe.... .03%? More get through in car trunks and railroad cars....and we hear about them dying that way from the heat. But the flood of illegals comes through in broad daylight at our border CITIES....Juarez/El Paso, Brownsville, where they walk across legally for a visit with kinfolk and never return. These cities also have border fences...and holes under, through, and razor wire cut over. This information is all readily available online for those who are interested in intelligent discussion of our illegal problem. For those that just like to smear Perry and misinform others, well, carry on!
