My GG grandfather was born here prior to Texas statehood, which qualifies my family for Texas First Families status. I am very proud that I can trace my very DNA back to the soil of this most wonderful state. As a Texan born and raised, let me congratulate you for your ancestry.

As a Texan born and raised, let me congratulate you for your ancestry. Thank you. My dad is to thank for uncovering our Texas roots. Turns out that my GG grandfather was born here because his father was involved with the war for Texas independence. That knowledge does give me a certain sense of belonging.
