NEW YORK -- Turmoil returned to U.S. stock markets at Thursday's open as renewed concerns about the global economy sent major indexes plunging and pushed gold to a new record high.
Investors were working through bad news on various fronts, including a dismal forecast from Morgan Stanley for global economic growth, and two U.S. government-issued reports on inflation and the job market.

Volume was highest in the morning at the sell-off. Increased traffic at attempted rally. Low volume blues the rest of the day. I’d like to see how it ends today.
The only cone with a slight elevation, followed by a steep drop to the bottom. Fill up the depression with heavy chocolate syrup for the bull-@#$@#, and you have a level playing field!
Buy chickens and goats, hay and feed. Also tiller and seeds. Livestock will provide the fertilizer, along with eggs, milk, wool and meat. You provide the land and the labor. Buy shot gun, shells and reloading equipment and supplies. Put up barbed wire fence.

7. Make college loans exclusively from college teacher retirement funds, and each teacher gets credit only when his/her students repay the loans. They’d probably have to charge 30%+ interest, and cut college teacher pay in half, at first.
After a bit, they’d gut most liberal arts majors and teachers, and DeVry and Phoenix would own the field.
