The Homeland Security Department said Thursday it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria such as attending school, having family in the military or are primarily responsible for other family members’ care.
The move, announced in letters to Congress, comes after Hispanic activists and Democrats had urged President Obama to exempt broad swaths of illegal immigrants from deportation while Congress wrestles with the issue.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said her department and the Justice Department will review all ongoing cases and see who meets the new criteria on a case-by-case basis.
“This case-by-case approach will enhance public safety,” she said in the letter. “Immigration judges will be able to more swiftly adjudicate high priority cases, such as those involving convicted felons.”
The new rules apply to those who have been apprehended and are in deportation proceedings, but have not been officially ordered out of the country by a judge. Miss Napolitano said a working group will try to come up with “guidance on how to provide for appropriate discretionary consideration” for “compelling cases” in those instances where someone has already been ordered deported.

There is a word that Fearless Reader needs to look up. “Backfire”...I do not think this Soros stooge has thought through this cunning plan. He think all those unemployed democrats that he’s bankrupting are gonna play along? Or the congress/senators that are gonna get the full brunt of this?
There was a poster a while back (cannot remember the name) that swore the DEMS would be the ones to impeach him. I think that person may well prove right. The votes they lose will be greater than those they gain from this.
Clo/Priven will fail. Obama will prove that.

Will House Republicans impeach Obama? They have the majority which is all it takes to impeach him and send the case to the Senate for a trial.
And the point would be?
The Senate wouldn’t even consent to hear the trial.
The Media would crucify them.
Obama’s supporters would probably riot nationwide.
And ALL that assumes there are enough Republicans that have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to “Herr Hussein.”
I think you assume FAR too much — and that it would be disastrous in any case. Perhaps at this point it would be wiser to let the Progressives go about the course they are taking, as we can’t stop it now anyway, and just quietly prepare for the inevitabilities it seems are approaching.
And pray that, per chance, the Hand of God intervenes and spares us the worst of possible scenarios in the future...
