The Obama Administration today announced a virtual amnesty-by-decree for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, whose deportations will be “indefinitely delayed”. In addition, Obama finally announced a jobs program – but for ILLEGAL ALIENS, not citizens – as those 300,000 illegals will also become eligible for “work permits“.

This action represents an administrative end-run around Congress, which twice rejected the ‘DREAM Act’ in 2010. As disgraceful as is this usurpation of Congressional authority, this announcement is even worse than is being reported.

I did hear on the news several months ago that illegals are actually doing better job-wise than average American citizens.

How could this benefit Obama?

1) He thinks they will now pay taxes and it will cure the debt crisis.

2) He will find a way to recognize their employment so that next month report shows "Obama added 300,000 jobs to the economy".

Reagan's amnesty was supposed to be for 1.5 million. Of course 25 years later we now know it turned out to be amnesty for alot more than that.

Which is why the 300k figure was just a meaningless number pulled out of Obama's skrawny arse. Tens of millions will be eligible.

Yup. my point in a nutshell. A paralegal could prove that with little difficulty. The case to impeach him is easy to make, yet the Repubs AND dems are thusfar too cowardly. I think that the Dems will end up doing it over backlash fears as another poster a ways back used to say.

Just thought of something. Obama is talking about extending unemployment beyond 99 weeks. The illegals were starting to go home when they ran our of jobs and unemployment payments. Now, Obama, with out tax money, will be paying them to stay longer.

I believe the message Obama is sending is that you can legally pick and choose which laws you’d like to obey now, and disregard the other pesky little laws that might stand in the way of democrats building new voter bases. You have a very good idea. I suggest we join up with Alan Keyes on this issue. He seems to have a lot of info on this man. There are others too. One mistake we should stop comitting is to ignore the message because we don't like the messenger. I listen to all... whether it be Dick Morris or Alan Keyes. Even when Bill Clinton went on national TV and said America needs to extend the Bush tax cuts. We must stop destroying the messenger when they say things to our advantage. We need to destroy the message when it's bad.

Reagan signed Simpson Mazolli into law for the same reason he signed the TEFRA tax increases - he was promised something solid in exchange for his compromise.

Reagan was supposed to finally obtain real border security in exchange for amnesty for 1.5 milion illegal aliens.

The democrats accepted the amnesty but renegged on the border security part, just like they accepted the 1 dollar in tax increases but renegged on the 3 dollars in specnding cuts which was their part of the TEFRA bargain.

Reagan's ONLY flaw was he trusted democrats to behave honorably. They are scum and need to be squashed like bugs.
