Obama Amnesty Begins: Halts Deportations for 300,000 Illegal Aliens; Offers ‘Work Permits’
Stand With Arizona ^ | August 18, 2011 | John Hill--Stand With Arizona

Posted on 08/18/2011 3:42:59 PM PDT by luvie

The Obama Administration today announced a virtual amnesty-by-decree for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, whose deportations will be “indefinitely delayed”. In addition, Obama finally announced a jobs program – but for ILLEGAL ALIENS, not citizens – as those 300,000 illegals will also become eligible for “work permits“.

This action represents an administrative end-run around Congress, which twice rejected the ‘DREAM Act’ in 2010. As disgraceful as is this usurpation of Congressional authority, this announcement is even worse than is being reported.

Thread:" Obama's Amnesty Begins..."

"Piker! Ronald Reagan gave REAL amnesty to TEN TIMES than number in '86."

And I already reponsed to that comparison. Good Bye!

Wow. That’s the extent of your reading level?

The point is comparing the REACTION of TODAY’S conservative purists to TODAY’S candidates vs what we still accept from Ronaldus Maximus as a reasonable compromise.

It has nothing to do with Obama.

Try to read between the lines in a sarcastic post, mmkay?

It’s so infuriating that the law is not being upheld.

If we don’t have the rule of law in this nation, we are not the United States of America any longer.

ABO would be the worst thing to happen to this country... after a zero re-election.

We CANNOT settle for ABO!!! Our country has already suffered too much damage. ABO would be the last nail in the coffin.

Just to clarify... I swore to myself that after McCain I would NEVER vote for an anybody-but candidate again. I used to be a broken glass republican. Now I am a true conservative and will stand on the principle that if a candidate is NOT a conservative (open borders is NOT conservative) I will NOT and I will NEVER vote for them.

I can’t believe that Reagan EVER imagined, with our constitution as law, that the USA would ever fall to the state that it is in. I truly believe that he thought the rule of law would be upheld in this country, no matter what. I don’t believe that he EVER imagined that a person with very questionable citizenship would be voted into office, a person who would HATE America would be voted into office, a person who would BETRAY our allies would be voted into office, etc. I don’t believe that he would ever believe our country could fall into the shape it is in just a few decades from when he held office.

So Reagan’s 11th commandment is null and void, as far as I am concerned.

Our country has already suffered too much damage

Yes it has. For 40 or 50 years while we minded our business, and the liberals infiltrated all of society.

The 2012 election is a sideshow circus compared to all the REAL unwinding that will have to be done underneath.

The problem with the hysterical "Ima gonna sit home and sulk" people is that even if Palin or Ronald Reagan were to win from out of the grave, there'll still be millions of bureaucratic leftists in Washington, liberal teachers in local schools and entrenched liberal media and on and on that are going to roll over the 2012 winner like a speed bump (Marxist, RINO or Rock Ribbed conservative).

We don't kneecap the parasites, as in Wisconsin, they continue to win.

What do you see in, say, August 2013 with a shiny new conservative or a hapless RINO in the whitehouse vs Barry II?

Hey, I realize that winning the battle in 2012 won’t win the war, just as winning the battle in 2010 didn’t win the war.

IMO we are in political triage. We’re bleeding badly with barely a pulse but still breathing. We’ve got to stem the bleeding in order to survive.

A rino elected as president will mean that the bleeding will continue, minimally abated. We will certainly perish through the same means as before the election.

A true conservative (meaning no open borders, adherence to the constitution, limited government, pro-life) will be like a tourniquet for the country and will reinvigorate us for the next battle.

Without a conservative president in 2012, there will be no next battle.

Indeed...and there are those in our current moronic government
who would prefer there not be any “United States of America any longer”.

Unfortunate, but very true.

I already also corrected (in post #339) your misreading/misrepresentation of the Reagan quote on compromise.

Adding in your nonsense about "reading level" "nothing to do with Obama" & "sarcastic post" and it's apparent you're not reading/remembering what you post, let alone what I post. To continue this would be a waste of time.

You’re right. Because you do not seem to do anything but argue from a static initial misunderstanding.

You took something the wrong way, and rather than try to understand what someone is trying to say, you insist on browbeating someone with something they already agree with.

Of course Reagan is not Obama.

But the people who rail on the ENTIRE GOP CANDIDATE FIELD now are the same people who hold Reagan up as an ideal mythical character. No (living candidate) can make these people happy today. George Allen, Christine O’Donnell, and even Palin will end up this way, hated by the right the first time she signs a piece of legislation which includes any kind of compromise. She would sign the Defense appropriation bill with the awful Boland amendment included in a heartbeat rather than let our military families be held hostage by the democraps.

Reagan was the best we’ve ever had in our lifetimes, and yet, he made serious compromises which would get him destroyed by conservative purists today, as well as the obvious leftist enemies.

People like you make it effectively impossible for a Reagan to ever appear on the political scene again.

In your entire post you didn't even mention Congress.

Very dramatic and dire you paint, sure. But this focus on a single goddam person to come in on a white horse and save the whole damn thing is no different than Obama promising to make the sea recede. Get it?

First of all, please don’t use profanity. This isn’t du.

And yes, Congress plays a critical role. But we have seen how zero, using executive orders, has usurped the law at every turn. A conservative president could rescind ALL of those eo’s. A rino or zero in a second term would only mean more of the same or worse.

Not being dramatic, just realistic.

Well, if it's good enough for WFB, then it's ok for FR. You do know who WFB was, don't you? Reagan did.

November 18,1969
Dear Mr. Buckley:
How do you square your "goddams" with your
Catholicism? Are you really blaspheming (which I
tend to doubt), or is there some distinction between
"goddam" (NR) and "God damn" with which I'm not
familiar? If so, I'd be interested to know how one
makes this distinction in the spoken word; also,
to have your definition and understanding of "goddam,"
not in my dictionary.
Ann Jones
New York Hilton Hotel

Dear Miss Jones: No. I am not really blaspheming, or in any case, do not
mean to be blaspheming, blaspheming being one of those things I am against.
"Goddam" is nowadays simple expletive, an intensifier. It is that
by cultural usage. In the most cloistered convent in Catholic Spain, you
will hear from the venerable lips of an aged nun, 'Jesus Mary and Joseph, I
forgot my umbrella!" "I would pray hard to his Maker to save his soule
notwithstanding all his God-damnes," a writer is quoted by the Oxford
English Dictionary as saying in 1647, back when they were fighting religious
wars. Three hundred years later, the American Heritage Dictionary of the
English Language lists "God damn" and "goddam" as "a profane [i.e.,
a-religious] oath, once a strong one invoking God's curse, now a general
exclamation ... used as an intensive." -- WFB
