Not in my neighborhood. I’m surrounded by lower income neighborhoods: but in Virginia, we have this thing called open AND concealed carry.
Never had a problem. Everyone is polite.

I don’t know your situation, but many jurisdictions consider ASP batons to be concealed weapons, with the same restrictions as firearms and some types of knives.

I am amazed at how much Free Republic has changed since I have been observing it. 5 years back half of those in here would have been calling most everyone in this thread a racist, but we are waking up. We are seeing real racism, and it isn't coming from Whites.

I agree .....the race card is pulled at will..and used as a weapon IMO. But I think it's up to the individual if he's going to play that game or not. I won't and am quick to set the record straight when confronted by it....bringing them back to the issue at hand.
Thankfully, I reside in the glorious state of Florida, so carrying concealed weapons is no impediment to civic virtue....
Nevertheless, I see no need to respond with deadly force when foolish youth may have their course corrected by the sting of a stun gun or welts about the thigh.

I think you're right...there's a threshold for criminal tolerance...and especially with the young folks today acting as they do...they are of the "entitlement" crew.... and I face this in my workplace. You just don't let them 'poke' but 'nip' it in the bud when it starts.
On the street, however, and with gangs as this...is a horse of another 'color'. I somehow imagine Obama will once again Blame someone or something else for these kids ganging up...they'll all be victims and excused for their behavior.

Think medieval weapons.
Firearms are great, but a mace will get the attention of the survivors.
I carry. Both firearm and very nasty homemade medieval type of weapons. Being of Scots Irish heritage and researching history has been a great benefit.

As for mace....which one is best? Many to choose from. Some have said that which you get in Army/Navy stores pretty nnasty stuff.
I think they have heard Holder loudly and clearly. The Obama administration will not pursue this as a crime of any type, much less a hate crime.
