Paying tribute to the nation's heroes would seem to be a perfect fit for the nation's pastime. Not so fast, says Major League Baseball.

The Washington Nationals had planned to honor the Navy SEALs who died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan by wearing special tribute hats on the field, but that plan didn't pass muster with league officials.

Gotta keep to those all important rules. No way to make any exception lest everyone request special treatment. Jerks.

Of course for breast cancer everyone in the league has to wear pink or be ostracized.

The breast cancer thing was national—as the rules require.

And they are to be forced to march with homos in their perverse God-damned parades, like the firemen are already doing in San Diego.

Teams can’t be allowed to think for themselves.

Baseball has centralized its control. Leagues are not independent, the umpires are not league specific and league presidents were banished in favor of the Commissar of Baseball.

Just like the illegitimate leader in the White House.

And why wouldn't they do it anyway?

And supporting abortion at the same time, as Susan G. Komen gives money to Planned Parenthood. Guess MLB doesn't give a damn about the loss of any innocent lives.

This makes little sense - the Padres have camo home jerseys to honor the troops stationed in the San Diego area.

You make a good point. Didn't MLB sell their souls to the fed gov years ago, which is why CONgress critters regularly demand players stand before them and answer steroid use questions? Tinfoil hat time: Maybe this order came from a higher source than Selig. Or he's just channeling his inner Roger Goodell and being a total DB.

Maybe the Nationals’ fans could buy and wear.

I know that the Nats provide the tickets to wounded warriors and that they are recognized I beleve before the bottom of the 3rd, or 4th inning.

I've lost my dad and several other family members and friends to cancer. However, I will be a dead man before I wear freakin Pink. I think donating money to the cancer cause of one’s choice is much more important than making a pansy-ass fashion statement.

Pink is for breast cancer. Blue is for colon cancer. Yellow is for cancer in general.

Didn’t the Yankees and Mets both have players wear FDNY and NYPD hats during games? That was appropriate; I don’t see why the Nats donning Seal hats would not be.

And why wouldn't they do it anyway?

Indeed. Just like Boeing. Why wouldn't they just do what they have planned and see what the NLRB is going to do about it. Tattle to Obama? Send in National Guard troops to shut them down?

Just back from the Nats’ team store. The Nats currently have no plans to make the hat available to the general public. I did call 240-640-7612 and requested that they reconsider because people have inquiring about puchasing the hat.

Perhaps the proceeds could be donated to the families of all who were lost in the crash.

Abusing the DC Chapter ping list
