Sometime after 2016, the world will celebrate the opening of the Barack Obama Presidential Library and Visitor Experience. In the best traditions of past presidential libraries, it will probably feature galleries, public experiences, theatrical presentations and more, capturing the leadership, the human drama, the agonizing decisions, the achievements and the legacy of the Obama presidency.

This unofficial fan site is dedicated to the celebration of that visitor experience. Here you will find preliminary information and links to news about the coming Obama Presidential Library and Museum

Today, we are still early in Obama’s first term as president. It is way too early for anyone to begin planning his presidential library. But when that planning begins, you will read about it here.

I've been to a few presidential libraries, and all of them contain extensive biographical information. Will Obama release any documentation about his life?

I agree with the poster of the article, it will probably never be built. This poseur will never allow his life to be examined by anyone.

This will be a “small footprint” project. Therefore, the entire library can easily be located on Martha’s Vinyard. That’s where the Vacationer-in-Chief spends most of his time and this locale is fittingly representative of his priorities.

Seems a feasible goal

• Ronald Reagan Presidential Library operned 1991
• George Bush Presidential Library opened 1997
• William Clinton Presidential Library opened 2004
• George W Bush Presidential Library due to open 2013

So 4 years after leaving office is normal and 2016 is a good estimate.
