CARSON CITY – The jobless rate in Clark County has climbed for the fourth consecutive month, hitting 14 percent in July, the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported today.

“It’s clear that unemployment figures are moving in the wrong direction and that is especially troubling for the thousands of Nevadans seeking employment,” Gov. Brian Sandoval said.

Statewide unemployment rose from 12.4 percent in June to 12.9 percent in July with 169,400 out of work.

Things are pretty bad here. We would love to have the Clark County rate.

Harry Reid doesn’t care. He won’t be running again until 2014.

Nevada elected a Democrat senator,
who was instrumental in passing Obamacare,
and other laws, that are causing unemployment.

...i feel sorry only for the ones who voted against Reid.
the rest of them, helped keep control of the senate,
in the hands of those destroying our Nation.

Kalifonia, Nevada, Georgia, Michigan, D.C, all with double digit unemployment, stocks are tanking, allies are fleeing like we are on fire, the borders are a freakin’ sieve and ‘da’ One’ is partying the month away with his betters in Martha’s Vineyard. When will the con-gress make an end of this usurper or will we have to make and end of the present con-gress? I suppose conservatives asked the same questions about Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, and all the other wanna be dictators who maneuvered their way to destructive power over their sleeping complacent people.

Nobody is going to the casinos. Obama is getting his wish.

I have no sympathy for them. They re-elected Harry Reid. They knew what they were getting.

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., reacting to today's report that Nevada's unemployment rate rose to 12.9 percent in July, said this in a statement:

"The unemployment figures out today are disappointing and more evidence that job creation must be our number one priority. However, that requires both parties to focus on putting Nevadans back to work and rebuilding our economy. Unfortunately, Republicans in Washington are instead spending their time pursuing an ideological agenda to kill Medicare by turning seniors' healthcare over to private insurance companies rather than creating good paying jobs that can't be shipped overseas. I hope that those who have been delaying our job creation efforts will look at these numbers and finally decide to put the best interests of Nevadans first by working with me to get the economy moving again."

redreno,

It is VERY hard to feel sorry for Nevada and their MANY financial problems at this point.
While I love to visit your state, after they voted to re-elect Harry Reid when they are a financial basket case, I’ve lost interset, if the folks in Nevada do not give a damn why should I???

As soon as the Great Impostor has been evicted I suspect there’ll be more conventions in Clark County and plenty more of the jets at McCarran that those greedy businessmen fly. And, there’ll be more of us that want to come visit the Strip more often.

I’m willing to bet that Las Vegas will be back alot sooner than many other locales in the USA.

What is the definition of insanity?

Reelecting Harry Reid and expecting unemployment to get lower.

In the 1970's you had two State Models, Michigan and Texas.

Michigan, big Unions , high taxes and plenty of taxpayers benefits. Texas just the opposite.

Fast forward 2011. Michigan has gained 1 Million people from 10 to 11 Million. Texas went from 11 Million to 23 Million. Which model worked?
