Lawyers for maid in Strauss Kahn scandal expect charges to be dropped as case collapses

The prosecutors in the Dominique Strauss-Kahn scandal will meet the hotel maid accusing the former IMF chief of sexual assault on Monday, in a sign the case may be headed for dismissal.

Douglas Wigdor, a lawyer for the maid, Nafissatou Diallo, said the Manhattan district attorney's office requested in a letter that Diallo meet with them at 3 p.m. The letter also said that, if she failed to appear, prosecutors would assume she was not interested in discussing the case, Wigdor said.

'This is just another piece of evidence demonstrating what may be the ultimate outcome of this case,' Wigdor told Reuters in a telephone interview from Paris.

“Lawyer of hotel maid suing Strauss-Kahn for sexual assault offered to halt criminal case if civil settlement was reached”

Isn’t the complainant the state, not an individual? Is it really her choice as to whether to prosecute or not?

My guess is that at least some of the dirt the defense dished out on her may have been true. If it is she may have been looking at several conspiracy charges and a blackmail charge. Or more.

Yes, the State is the one who is the complainant, but I think that a victim can agree not to file or proceed in court. To me, this whole thing reeks of fraud.

I am still shocked at how quickly Strauss-Khan was publicly convicted and all those protestors are going to look like total idiots. When are people going to stop jumping to conclusions?

Technically, the frog may be not guilty, but what “man” would engage in sex with a complete stranger, whatever the loopholes may be? He was a married “man” to boot. Please teach your children well, especially your male children if you want them to grow up to be “men.”

Yes but there has been a recent sea change in France regarding his accusers,he might well face charges over there.

Frankly he will never be President of France or head of the IMF.Whatever happens,he got dropped by a maid through his own stupidity.

I think it was Mike Savage who called this fiasco correctly.

Well, Straus KanKan is a supporter of US feminists and their specious agenda against men, so, for me, it was popcorn time and poetic justice Karma against this socialist spoiled little mama’s boy brat acting so “Cartesian” and french.

To wit, Niphong never did not drop the charges so easily on the Duke Lacross kids and manufactured evidence and destroyed others... and the case of Mike Tyson also comes to mind with these little hos rubbing their a$$ in public on him but calling rape in private...

Straus KanKan got a free ride, because anyone of us would have been hung on a pole for much less

He and the maid (who was discovered to be turning tricks only days after the cad DSK was arrested) deserve each other.

This whole thing would never have come up if the cheap frog had paid her to begin with.

When you hire a prostitute, you have to pay.

The case was going to trial UNTIL the maid started showing her face and talked to the media-—that was a huge turnoff.

However, what turned the tide against her was when we saw her lawyer speak into a mic.

Her lawyer is a major opportunist-—he’s the one who lost the case for her.

DSK and his canny lawyers know that-——they are thanking their lucky stars she got a dipstick as a lawyer.

What sticks in my mind is her "fairy tale" about being raped in her own country. She told this "lie" so well that seasoned interrogators (LE) were in tears.

She plays dumb when she wants to but has $100,000 in the bank, claims more children than she has on her tax return....

He checked out 9 minutes after she entered his room????

She might get up "liar of the year" award.

There was an early story that she was selling telephone cards in her neighborhood...Somehow, I thought "hooker".

Wonder how she would do on a lie detector test??

The info about her turning tricks a few days after the case broke probably did not help much. Maybe that is where the 'hooker' came from.
