Perry was not slamming food stamps. He was reacting to comments last week from the Obama camp that food stamps help to stimulate growth - because recipients are able to purchase food - which helps farmers, the ag industry, etc.

Perry was slamming the "notion" that food stamps help create and preserve jobs. And I agree with him.

It would take much more desperate circumstances to make food stemps vital to the existence of the economy. Another Obama term would bring those circumstances around though.
