Things are very different between 1980 and 2011.

This nation is in serious trouble. While I give Sarah Palin much of the credit for our wins in 2010. If it weren't for Sarah Palin we would have a lot less power these days in DC. The GOP needs Sarah Palin.

Me, I was hoping she'd have been the first to announce.

What Americans do not want to see in these terrible times is political strategies on when to announce.

As Rush Limbaugh said: "any candidate that has not yet announced either has no idea how bad off we are in the United States these days or they're playing politics with our dilemma."

“Me, I was hoping she'd have been the first to announce. “

Why?
What would that have allowed her to accomplish? We have all said for years/decades that campaigns are too long and cost too much.
Now Palin is doing it differently; and people are having a fit about it.
People are too used to a “get it now” attitude in my opinion.
And she has not exactly been silent about the issues.

I'm sure you were. That way the press could have spent every waking minute for 18 months lambasting Sarah rather than vetting your candidate-of-choice.

When the announcements are made is a completely separate calendar and has no bearing on when the primaries are and when the general election will be. Sarah Palin can announce whenever she chooses and she can announce that she’s running or that she’s opting not to run.

Rush’s comment about ‘playing politics’ about a political election seems like it may have been taken out of context or he’s simply wrong about it because everyone already knows when the elections are going to be and who the candidates are, whether they’re declared or potential at this point.

You sound like a liberal. They are always saying, The American people want .... or The American people think ....

This American person doesn't care about their political strategies or when they announce. The idea that when a person announces is connected to the terrible condition of this country is also preposterous. No matter when they announce or who wins they can't take office until January 20, 2013, and until they are in office they cannot do anything concrete to save this country.

Almost everyone misunderstands and underestimates Sarah. I thought she was brilliant from the beginning and now I think even that may be an underestimation. She is spending no money on campaigning and she still gets most of the media attention. The media were chasing her bus all over the country until is was repeatedly pointed out what fools she was making of them. She was the pied piper and they were the rats.

What did her bus do? Painted red, white, and blue and emblazoned with patriotic symbols she took her family on a tour of the historic places in this country. That reminded some people and taught others about how and why this country was founded. She even educated some about Paul Revere's ride. Rush Limbaugh is now trying to ride that wave to success in the tea business. He should pay Sarah for the idea.

I would say that she is more than brilliant. Oh, another thing. She was the first conservative to state openly that career politicians are our enemy, also, as well as the Democrats. That set the Republican Party's hair on fire and now they are against her, too.

Which came first, Sarah Palin or the Tea Party Movement? It was Palin on the campaign trail with John McCain that inspired the Tea Party Movement. She was so refreshing compared to the normal career politician. She was the first to "tell it like it is" and she inspired that in others like Christie in NJ and it is what give Donald Trump 15 seconds of spotlight, which he is drawn to like a moth to flame.

Sarah is a leader!
