Last Monday, President Obama made news by promising to give a speech in September detailing, "a very specific plan to boost the economy, to create jobs and to control our deficit."
But has that "very specific plan" already been downgraded to an outline?
That is, at least, the impression I got watching Obama advisors Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod on yesterday's Sunday morning shows.
"The president is going to outline a short-term plan to accelerate the economy," Axelrod said on ABC's This Week, "in the face of the hits we've taken, because of the Arab Spring and oil prices, because of the Japanese earthquake, because of Europe that have slowed down economic growth.
On Meet the Press, Gibbs used similar language, "The president is going to outline some ideas, the president has outlined ideas every day he's been in the White House."
Yes, Obama has outlined ideas while in the White House, but what he has not done is produce "a very specific plan to boost the economy, to create jobs and to control our deficit."
Will September's speech be any different than the past? If Axelrod and Gibbs are going to be believed, apparently not.
The best job speech he could give would only contain 2 words ---- I RESIGN.
Obama has no specific plans. If someone doesn't write a specific plan and load it in the teleprompter, then we won't get a specific plan.
My bet is we get another campaign speech. Demonize the Republicans and blame them for the lack of jobs.
Both Obama and his teleprompters have been stuck on stupid for years now.
No 0bama speech on any “plan” will be in a form that can be scored by the CBO or the OMB. A Community Organizer’s job is to cheer lead. Not to do anything of substance.

He hasn’t outlined anything. His standard operating procedure is “Hey, I gave a speech on this topic so now Congress get back to me when you have a bill”.

Back with baraq was a candidate he was asked for specifics on something or another. He told the reporters, Hey, I’m just the idea guy, I leave the details up to others. Paraphrased, but you get the idea. NO follow up from the media. The Party and the media knew he was an empty suit and still they championed the empty phrase hope and change.
baraq gave all kinds of information willingly like spread the wealth around, but the repubs didn’t use any of baraq’s own words against him.
This speech is going to be just a speech. He and his party have no intention of turning around the economy. They are enjoying this too much to do anything different.
As of today, thhe Prince of de Nile
doesn’t even know what the plan is.
They’ll hand it to him 10 minutes before
teleprompter time. He has nothing, he is nothing.
He can’t formulate a sentence on his own.

After all this hype, if he doesn’t come out with a true ‘plan’ of action that the people can actually grasp hold of, he’s toast................
Starting in November 2013 the new Republican President and Congress can start to chant “We inherited this mess. It is Obama’s fault.” I wonder if the media will let us repeat that excuse the way they have given a pass to Obama as he blames everyone and everything from Bush to ATM’s for his failures?

Sounds about right for President Downgrade.
Oh boy, the president has an outline. Next he plans to brainstorm, and if all else fails cram all night before the next deadline. His lecture notes are pretty thorough, for the times he went to class, anyway. And even though he hasn’t cracked his textbooks, he’s always gotten at least a C since he’s so good at tests. Plus, he can always cheat off his crib notes, which by the way only ever say “Spend More!”
Didn’t Herman Cain say on Sunday that the president will just give another speech, that’s all?
