This is a man who has spent his entire life in an urban environment and has no clue just how many of us drive pickup truck by choice and or necessity.

In my hometown, if there are 30 vehicles parked along main street, at lest 20 to 25 of them will be pickup trucks. Most of us in my neck of the woods learned to drive in a pickup truck. Its why so many of us prefer a standard transmission.

I drive a ford explorer SUV 4wd because

1. It’s SAFE
2. It’s SAFE
3. I can get up the hill to my house in the winter
4. I can see down on traffic
5. It’s SAFE

.
My wife learned to drive in a pickup, and I taught three of my kids how to drive in her pickup. (it was a compact with manual shift, and mine was way too big and heavy, and automatic)
