SarahPAC: Setting The Record Straight – Wrong & Misleading

Posted on August 22 2011 - 11:33 PM - Posted by:

SarahPAC released the following statement:

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.

Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:

Here she is, in her own words:

Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?

Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but…

Q: So by next month?

Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.

A few moments later, there was this exchange:

Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?

Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.

Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?

Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.

Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?

Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.

If I haven't heard it from the liberal Austin media or one of Perry's political opponents, it ain't *new* news.
You're listening to liberal talking point hog wash.

If you haven't heard it from the liberal media, where does someone else get the liberal talking points?

It seems to me the old expression, “He cannot see the forest for the trees” would apply.

Sometimes you don't know you are being smothered until you get fresh air.

I guess we’ll just have to disagree for the time being.

One thing I hope we’ll both do is support whoever becomes the nominee.

We can not allow Obama 4 more.

As far as I, and millions of others are concerned, the 2012 race is a mere formality. She became the 45th President a long time ago.

So she has a really dark tan then? I gotta tell you, very disappointed with her Supreme Court picks. ;p

Right here on FR, my FRiend.

Really? Liberal talking points from conservatives on FR? What would those be? Parental rights (Gardasil)? Liberal parental rights would be the "choice" to avoid those rights before the child is even born. Illegal immigration (Dream Act)? Conservatives would not be for granting illegals favoritism over those native born or even those here that have gone though proper channels to become citizens. It's creating a special class of (in this case, illegal) citizen. What if Perry had said (to single out a few) only gay, lesbian, black, Asian, Muslim, Native American, Christian, atheists, Wiccan, etc. don't have to pay in-state tuition? What say you then?

I see you called out the PDS Posse on me.

Back in the day, anyone who did that, marked themselves forever as a lowly coward.

Notice I’m not calling my crew to gang up on you. Coward.

When I make jokes I like to share them with my friends. Take a chill pill.

If you’re so super sensitive you should avoid posting silly things. What kind of responses were you expecting?

But he’s not. He’s including them with every other kid in Texas. IMO, better than having them running the streets as gangsters.

They still have to pay the tuition, it’s not free.

That Gardasil issue had a parental opt-out from the getgo.

You one or two issue folks need to get a major grip. We need someone who can actually beat Barry in the general not some quitter or loon.

Every student that is an American citizen, must pay out of state tuition if taxes were paid in another state. It is more expensive for them. The kids brought in by illegal parents are not citizens. Who knows if they even paid taxes? If they did, was it with a fake SSN, or even worse, by identity theft? Where did they get the money to even pay the in state fees? You seem to think that if they are not given special privileges, they will become gangsters. Do you think the same of the citizen student that is denied that privilege?

That Gardasil issue had a parental opt-out from the getgo.

Since you seem to know about this opt-out, why don't you tell me what that involves? Can I pin a note to little Susie Smith's dress saying, "no Gardasil" and that will be the end of that? Just what does a parent have to do, and how often do they have to do it?

You one or two issue folks need to get a major grip. We need someone who can actually beat Barry in the general not some quitter or loon.

I have more than one or two issues with Perry, and all of them show that he is not a conservative candidate. You seem to be saying that only a non-conservative can beat Obama. Is that your point?

The Guardasil issue is dead. It never happened and all you had to was fill out a form to opt out.

You didn't actually think the schools were going to administers the drug, did you?

Don't even attempt to twist my words.

Perry is my governor and we realize he's not perfect but, HE LISTENS WHEN WE THINK HE'S WRONG. See if you can get that from ANY California Pols.

IMO he's quite Conservative.

He's been in office longer than any other Texas governor and has kept this state's head above water during these trying times. Something this country desperately needs.

You and other anti-Perrys are looking for the *perfect* candidate (or shilling for your own). Sorry but, Jesus isn't running and if he was, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be Conservative enough in your eyes either.

What utter bullcrap. Your 'friends' are all well-known PDSers, and you called them to my post so they could gang up on me.

If you’re so super sensitive you should avoid posting silly things.

Quit trying to disarm me. I fight back. I stated a simple observation, and you ridiculed it. You could have replied to me one-on-one, and respectfully disagreed. Instead, you played it like a punk ass liberal.

Cheap shots and gangster tactics deserve no respect.

Windflier, you don’t get to tell me why I do something.

You posted something silly that was begging to be mocked. I love to go for the easy joke.

And by the way this is a PUBLIC FORUM. Anyone in the world can read this thread. Can read every post you ever made or that I ever made. Don’t post things publicly that you don’t want seen or possibly commented on. I will never understand those that whine “you pinged your friends to GANG UP ON ME!!! Waaaawaaahh!!!”. Grow up please.

Most of the people I pinged had already seen your “observation”. I wanted them to see my reply cause I like sharing my half-decent wit.

And I speak for myself, if you got problems with other people take it up with them, I’m not interested.

You could have giggled at my post without calling your posse, but you had to play it like a gangster. Sorry, but that’s cowardly.

Wiggle all you want, but I caught you doing an Alinsky on me.

I’m thinking the same. FR is getting a little too narrow-minded for me.

Being able to post a link to an article within a post was something I thought was rather nice. It’s just quicker then going through the whole posting routine.

Of course I try to apologize to the poster for doing it. Never had a problem.

I just read this thread today Aug. 28. I may reconsider my contributions also.

Well put. Thank you.

But they don’t want to talk about the pros, just the cons.

If you talk cons about Perry, you can stay but just because a few people think he’s a RINO, you must be banished?

I personally like Sarah but only because I want Perry to stay here. But if either one runs, I’ll be behind them 1000%

The Guardasil issue is dead. It never happened and all you had to was fill out a form to opt out.

You still haven't answered my question on how to get this form or how many times a parent must fill it out. Don't you know? He's your governor, but you can't tell us this? Are you in denial with this, "It never happened" stuff?

Don't even attempt to twist my words.

Did'nt know I did so. Please show me where I did.

HE LISTENS WHEN WE THINK HE'S WRONG. See if you can get that from ANY California Pols

Did you not see Michelle Malkin's post about his fake so-called non-appolgy about his EO? From what I can see, that was based on even less science than Global Warming. Maybe I missed it, but whaqt CA pol is running for POTUS?

IMO he's quite Conservative.

IMO, he is anything but a conservative.

He's been in office longer than any other Texas governor and has kept this state's head above water during these trying times. Something this country desperately needs.

How did he do that? With those stimulus dollars that he claimed he wouldn't accept, but did to balance the budget?
