SANTA ROSA -- Sonoma County prosecutors filed charges Monday against an allegedly unlicensed driver who authorities say ran over a 4-year-old boy in a Santa Rosa crosswalk and sped off.
Marcos Lopez Garcia, 22, was charged in Superior Court with felony hit-and-run as well as two misdemeanors, vehicular manslaughter and driving without a valid license. He made an initial court appearance Monday but did not enter a plea.
Garcia, who is being held without bail because federal officials suspect him of being an illegal immigrant, has two previous arrests for driving without a license, records show. Five days before Thursday's crash, police said, he was told not to drive until a court appearance in October.

What a shock! No mention of him being in the country illegally? This seems like 'involuntary manslaughter', as well as 'hit and run'. But, because he's here illegally - he'll probably get an appology for interrupting his drinking, and a police escort back to his car.

Illegal alien Ecuadorian hit a 23 year old with his pickup truck while driving drunk, without a license AND his 4 year old kid in the cab.
The 23 year old had just graduated college and was on his motorcycle when he was hit. He became lodged in the front wheel well of the pickup and the a-hole dragged him for a 1/4 mile while bystanders were running along side, banging on the windows. He finally stopped, backed up, ran over the kid again and then drove off. Police arrested him after he hit a tree about a half mile away. The young man died of his injuries.
People in this small'ish town are seriously pissed and I would not be surprised if there were some reprisals against some of the MANY illegal aliens in this town.

Howie talked about it yesterday. The guy’s wife said she hopes he gets deported so he won’t “have to suffer” in America anymore.

The police and judge need to explain to the boy's mother why this murderer wasn't shipped back to Mexico on the first arrest.

QUESTION The man barely speaks English but became a principal? Are his papers legit? Does he have the proper CV?

"The man who stole Buddy's life from us will be one day free," the family said, "but we will always carry the burden of losing him forever."Pretty safe bet that Garcia is being held in the County Jail. As such he'd be pretty easy to get at if *someone else* was also in the County Jail awaiting trial for something minor like ... oh ..... smashing the windows of a 7-11. And maybe that *someone* had a grudge against Garcia for something he did.
That being the case, it could just happen that Señor Garcia would 'never be free' as the oddest of things occur in County Jails.
