The residues of liberalisms Wisconsin Woodstock 1960s radicalism redux: operatic lamentations, theatrical demonstrations and electoral futilities are words of plaintive defiance painted on sidewalks around the state capitol. Solidarity forever was perhaps painted by a graduate student forever at the University of Wisconsin. Repubs steal elections is an odd accusation from people who, seeking to overturn the 2010 elections, cheeredDemocratic lawmakers who fled to Illinois a congenial refuge for labor-subservient Democrats in order to paralyze the duly elected legislature. The authors of the sidewalk graffiti have at least read Jefferson: The tree of liberty is watered by the blood of tyrants. The tyrant is $cott Walker American Fa$ci$t.

Nor do I think this Waterloo marks the end of liberalism, including an attempt to recall Gov. Walker next year.
pompous rino.
Wow, Will nails one for a change.
Even though we lost two seats in the recalls, strategically we’ve turned the tide in Wisconsin. Let’s not forget those losses occurred under the old districts drawn up 10 years ago when things were much more Democrat. ‘12 will much more GOP friendly.
How anyone who is for small government in any way a Fascist?
“Making sure the trains run on time” requires a large and controlling government.
George Will a RINO???
At worst he’s an establishment-type republican, the same way that Sean Hannity is all rah-rah-republican. The kind that will support Romney over Palin on the basis of who they think will beat Obama by the biggest margin.
But he is republican to the bone.
They've "read Jefferson"?? This reminded me of the argument in "A Fish Called Wanda" in which Wanda finally told off Otto, calling him an ape.
Otto: Apes don't read philosophy.
Wanda: Yes, they do. They just don't understand it.
Actually, I was recently reading about how Mussolini went about keeping the trains funning on time.
The story went that, if a train came in or left late, the engineer and conductor would be hauled out and summarily executed with great public fanfare. Apparently that was enough incentive to even keep Italians efficient.
funning = running
This was ASTOUNDING

“And teachers unions may no longer automatically deduct dues from members paychecks. After Colorado in 2001 required public employees unions to have annual votes reauthorizing collection of dues, membership in the Colorado Association of Public Employees declined 70 percent. In 2005, Indiana stopped collecting dues from unionized public employees; in 2011, there are 90 percent fewer dues-paying members. In Utah, the end of automatic dues deductions for political activities in 2001 caused teachers payments to fall 90 percent. After a similar law passed in 1992 in Washington state, the percentage of teachers making such contributions declined from 82 to 11.”
This needs to be pushed in every state that allow unions to have the state payroll office skim the paycheck of the workers to funnel it to the unions.
