The rising impatience with the leadership of President Obama was epitomized on Aug. 8 in the middle of one of the now-habitual Wall Street roller coasters. His speech on the economy was 53 minutes late. What showed on TV screens was an empty White House podium, an image suggestive of the absence of leadership. When the president did speak, the best he could come up with was "We've always been and always will be a triple-A country." The market's response was a Bronx cheer, a drop of another 300 points.
Mr. Obama seems unable to get a firm grip on the toughest issue facing his presidency and the countrythe economy. He now asserts he is going to "pivot" to jobs. Now we pivot to jobs? When there are already 25 million Americans who are either unemployed or cannot find full-time work? Does this president not appreciate what is going on?
Fewer Americans are working full-time today than when Mr. Obama took office. We have lost over 900,000 full-time jobs in the last four months alone, and long-term unemployment is at a post-World War II high. The public's faith in his ability to deal with the economy has plunged. As Doyle McManus of the L.A. Times put it, "Can this president persuade voters to let him keep his job when so many have lost theirs?" Even Jimmy Carter didn't plumb the depths of national dissatisfaction revealed in the stunning Gallup poll taken Aug. 11-13. The president's approval rating was only 39% with a mere 26% approving of his handling of the economy.

You knew exactly who you were supporting, Mortimer.
Agreed but any help at all is appreciated at this time. If he can turn even some of his liberal following that will help.
A vote for Affirmative Action is a vote for...
I used to wonder how anyone could fall for that old Nigerian money scam. Now I'm not quite so perplexed.
Zuckerman bailed a long time ago.
“I used to wonder how anyone could fall for that old Nigerian money scam. Now I’m not quite so perplexed.”
POST OF THE DAY! LOL!
"Sammy Davis just wrote a book. 'Yes I Can!' I read it, and sent him a telegram..'No You Can't!" I wish we could turn that into an ad..a riff on "Yes We Can!"
Other big line:
"This is a VERY exclusive hotel. So fancy..they brought Sammy Davis Jr in to clean the place.."
The monologue is on the "Sinatra at the Sands" CD...and you should hear him sing "My kind of town..(Chicago)"
Asked about Zuckerman’s comments today at the WH press briefing, the response from Jay Carney was..”This from the guy who publishes USN&WR..Doh!!”
Even if the government instituted a 100% tax on both corporate profits and personal incomes above $250,000 per year, it would yield enough revenue to run the government for only six months. Why? Because under Mr. Obama's presidency, government spending has swelled to 24% of GDP from 18%.
Poor Mort has not yet embraced the obvious....Barry’s plan to destroy America as we know it is working just fine.
Although many of us, very early on, knew that if Barry won he would do exactly what he said that he would do, transform America, libs like Mort just can’t wrap their brains around what is really happening.Cognitive dissonance. How could our president willfully destroy our country?
It’s like finding out that your favorite brother is a secret serial killer. You make excuses, and it’s painful to finally accept the truth.
Someone else found their BRAIN? How nice.
“Years ago, when Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack ruled, and we hadn’t yet heard of PC.....he had some great lines in the monologue in his Vegas Act..”
I remember Dean Martin when he picked up Sammie in his arms and said, “I’d like to thank the NAACP for this award.....”
I have to admit, even I am stunned by the sheer magnitude of his incompetence. Having difficulty thinking of anything like it I’ve seen before. Even the generally expected typical Lefty stuff he seems unable to execute.
Quote: “Even for those who support higher taxes on the wealthy, as I do, we must remember that we have an income tax system in which fully half the “taxpayers” pay no tax at all, and in which the variety of loopholes cries out for a real reform of the tax code. Even if the government instituted a 100% tax on both corporate profits and personal incomes above $250,000 per year, it would yield enough revenue to run the government for only six months. Why? Because under Mr. Obama’s presidency, government spending has swelled to 24% of GDP from 18%.”
And this is exactly how he and the democommunists wanted it. First, they wanted to create a situation such that only the wealthy paid taxes. They have achieved that. Next, they ramped up spending such that there would be no choice but to raise taxes. They were finally going to get their way and outright redistribute the wealth. Those damn TEA Party racists came along and spoiled the whole thing.
But what Mort misses here are the questions that are really most important to the President. Is his grip right or is he slicing because he is clearing his hips too soon? How the hell did Limbaugh get on the Haney project? Damn, the IRS and/or Holder have to get on investigationg that Haney guy stat!!
All these deniers are a laugh.
What did they think was going to happen when a majority of Americans decided to elect a Marxist? It was the same as a declaration of war against the private sector. They think we’re just going to roll over and ‘sacrifice’ for their needs? Think again!
Molon Labe!
One good line for the future Repubican candidate might be:
If you plan to transform American society, you better be competent enough to run a lemonade stand.
Liberals are stupid enough to think anyone can run the country. The truth is that many people could get elected but only a much less have the abilities. I can't think of one liberal who is qualified.
I got one question for ya Mort. You’re supposedly a successful businessman. Would you have hired the Obozo to run one of your enterprises? Didn’t think so. So WTF were you doing supporting him to run the biggest enterprise on the face of the earth? And now you’re dissapointed. Give me a f’n break.
