Rahm Emanuel using Chicago to Finance a Run for the White House
Coach is Right ^ | 8/26/2011 | Doug Book

When Chicago’s former mayor Richard Daley sold his top hat and city bank book to Rahm Emanuel, some pundits figured Obama’s former top aide would be satisfied with the benefits the position had always provided the Daley family–job security and all you can steal.

But Rahm has his eyes firmly fixed on the 2016 presidential race and is already doing what experienced Democrat politicians do best–he is using the power and authority of his office to buy voters and donors.

And of course in the best tradition of Democrat politics, Rahm will make certain that members of both groups have one thing in common. They will all be beholding to Rahm.

And Emanuel is off to a good start with a $20 million grant from the John T. and Catherine D. MacArthur Foundation. Named the “Micro Market Recovery Program”, the 20 million will be used to subsidize the purchase of homes in some of Chicago’s highest foreclosure areas.

In short, the mangers of the MacArthur Foundation is buying some very important access to Rahm, while Rahm’s well publicized generosity and compassion make him a hero in the eyes of voters.

The only way he could win is to wait for Obama to totally destroy the US and send his opponents to re-education camps.

Absurd? Years ago I might have thought that. Now? Never say never.

Just because we elected an incompetent black for President doesn’t mean we will elect a ferret.

After this current fiasco, I would imagine that it will be quite some time before another of Illinois’ favorite sons makes it to the WH.

He is a pipsqueak who stated along with the other “genius’ Chicago mayoral candidates that he was for reparations. I still find it amazing that this guy has become a multi-millionaire because of his insider info gained as a politician ala Terry McAuliffe - and he gets a free pass. Gosh, I detest Democrats.

Emanuel is off to a good start-----a $20 million grant from the John T. and Catherine D. MacArthur Foundation for the “Micro Market Recovery Program” to subsidize the purchase of homes in some of Chicago’s highest foreclosure areas.

Mmmmm......Rhambo will make a bundle on that...buying up all sorts of Chicago real estate with tax-free foundation money.

QUESTION Did the MacArthur Foundation write the check to Emanuel, and his wife’s, tax-exempt "foundation" The Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust (operated out of their Chicago residence--where Mayor Emanuel lives now----and where they evaded property taxes as the "non-profit's residence" when Rham was a Congressman)?

The IRS reported that one of the most common tax frauds is one foundation writing a check to another foundation---and getting a kickback---how the rich skim off tax-free money for themselves.

===================================

REFERENCE The tax-exempt "US Congressman Emanuel Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust" was formed in 2002, when the 4-term Chicagoan was first elected to Congress. US Congressman Emanuel and his wife, Amy Rule (a convert to Judaism), are its only donors.

US Congressman Emanuel doesn’t pay any property taxes and he gets income tax write-offs----this allows his kids to attend school tuition-free and allows him to expense a lot of personal expenses.

US Congressman Emanuel also "donates" to his Foundation (thus shielding income from taxes); his wife apparently draws a salary from the foundation. They reported having $2,900 on hand at the end of 2005, receiving $34,000 from US Congressman Emanuel and donating more than $31,000. US Congressman Emanuel also donated $25,000 to his Synagogue.

US Congressman Emanuel’s tax-exempt foundation gave nearly $25,000 to the Anshe Emet synagogue and school [a private school that US Congressman Emanuel's children attend], and $15,000 to the foundation run by former president Bill Clinton. The foundation also gave $14,000 to Marwen, a Chicago charity that provides art classes and other educational help to low-income children. US Congressman Emanuel's wife, Ms Rule is, on Marwen’s board.

Mr. Warmth wants to run for the White House.

What could possibly go wrong?

Hee! Hee!

Is that residence of “The Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust” also a functioning synagogue by any chance?

A long-ago ex-girlfriend of my brother’s once worked for a wealthy NY family that used that trick to avoid property taxes on their house.

Think of how the Emmanuels could really clean up if they sold the “air rights” to their residence/foundation headquarters.

Of course having a huge office building built above their home might not be what they want.

You didn’t notice over the years?

That’s how you make millions on Wall Street nowadays.

First you serve in the halls of power, then you move into “private industry” and wax wealthy on your rolodex.

I love casino economics. It’s like cutting off your own leg and frying that up to eat.

Where do they think the money that gamblers blow comes from and where do they think it might otherwise have been spent?

Do they really think the punters all come from out of state?
