See my post #20 if you have the guts to read the truth about hispanic Texans/Americans.

When their families came across long years ago and settled in Texas, you didn’t require papers. Because it wasn’t regulated if you go back far enough, and then your decendants have been here so long, they don’t even know anything other than, as long as I know anything about, my family has been here.

And people walked back and forth across the border for whatever reason. All the time. Paperless. LOL

I’m not talking about illegals. I’m talking about legals whose ancestors have been here so long the issue of “where are your papers?” is irrelevant.

But people with your attitude will count every one of them as illegal because, “where are your papers?”

See my post # 38 before making assumptions about ‘people with your attitude’:

Thanks txrangerette for pointing out the truth.

My husband is hispanic and his ancestors fought for the Independence of Texas. Remember the Alamo!

Texas WAS Mexico at one time. And there are many many Texans who are hispanic that their ancestry goes back to when Texas was Mexico.

The Hispanic Population of Texas is 9,151,000. (almost 40%)
The population of Texas is a little over 25 million.

Native-Born Hispanics in Texas are 69% of the 9+ million.

Foreign Born Hispanic are 31% of the 9+ million.

I have traced my husbands ancestry back to Spanish Settlers.

Now don’t even get me started on this stuff because I’m Native American Indian.

I do understand people upset about the illegal immigration and agree that it is out of hand. The borders have to be secured.

The Native Texas Hispanics are upset just as much as everyone else is.

But it is not Texas fault, it is not Perry’s fault but is completely the fault of the Federal Government. One of the few jobs they constitutionally are required to do - and they will not.

I believe they are talking about American Hispanics in this article - not illegals.

It’s no different than saying Perry is Good for Blacks or Perry is good for Women etc...

Thanks to txrangerette and others who speak the truth.

My husband is an American Hispanic Texan who’s ancestry I have traced back to the Spanish Setters.

Many people apparently don’t understand that Texas used to be Mexico before we won our independence.

Many Texas Hispanics ancestors fought for Texas Independence
Remember the Alamo!

For those who don’t know or understand the demographics of Texas...here’s some facts...

There are 9,151,000 Hispanics in Texas.

That is roughly 40% of all Texans.

Of that 40% or 9,151,000:
Native Born Hispanics = roughly 70% of that 9,151,000.
Foreign Born Hispanics = roughly 30% of the 9,151,000.

American Texan Hispanics don’t like illegals coming over from Mexico anymore than anyone else.

Please don’t lump all Hispanics as being illegals or non American.

And don’t even get me started on this subject because I am Native American Indian.

I believe the author of the original post was speaking of American Hispanics not illegals. It would be no different than saying Perry is Good for Blacks or Perry is Good for Women..etc...

I don’t like illegals coming into our country.

But you cannot blame Texas, Arizona, New Mexico or California. And you cannot blame Perry.

If you want to put the blame for illegal immigration squarely at the feet of where it belongs - blame the United States Federal Government of who it is one of the few constitutional responsibilities that it has and refuses to do it’s job.
